Sunday thoughts

I was reading in the May Conference issue of the Ensign this evening, and this really stood out to me. It's from President Monson's address in the Young Women General Broadcast and his talk is entitled "May You Have Courage."

"Lest you feel inadequate for the tasks that lie ahead, I remind you of another of the Apostle Paul's stirring statements from which we might draw courage: 'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.'"

That scripture (2 Timothy 1:7) reminds me of my sweet neighbor, it is her favorite and I have heard her mention it in Relief Society before. She has such a gentle demeanor, one of quiet power and the courage and faith to do what must be done, even in the face of difficulty.

I do feel a bit inadequate for the tasks that lie ahead, and I am definitely taking courage from this reminder! I know that fear does not come from God, and that He wants me to go forward with power and love and a sound mind. Yeah! I feel empowered just thinking about it.

Don't you just love how much punch a scripture endorsed by a modern day prophet has? I love this one, too.

I admire the courage that you have in following opportunity.

I love this scripture! I often think it must be super frustrating for the Lord to watch us struggle over seemingly small things when He knows we are capable of great things. So much of our success is determined by the way we see things. I hope you continue to feel empowered and are able to knock things off your list like crazy!

you will find the courage and you will do great, and in no time you will be in one of the most amazing places on earth...what a blessing and opportunity. One task at a time....go for it!

I think I spend most of my time wavering between feelings of inadequacy and feelings of laziness. Basically, I spend way too much time being paralyzed by one or the other.
