Sunday thoughts on Monday

Two young women (one former, one current) dropped off cards that brought me to tears. Right when I was feeling that maybe I'm not so good at this whole thing, maybe my efforts make no difference, they proved me wrong.

It was exactly what I needed.

It confirmed to me, yet again, that a hand-written note can turn someone's day – week, even! – completely around.

It brought to me a new resolve, to act on those feelings, to write those words that someone may need to hear. Thank you, thank you, dear girls.

I had that same miracle a couple of weeks ago Michelle. I know the pen is mighty, but so often I need to be reminded. The notes I received saved me from wallowing as well.

I'm so glad these girls took the time to write you! You know I'm a big believer in notes like these, and I often think that we take the great service we receive through church callings for granted and that we should be much better at sharing our gratitude and extending compliments to one another.

I read your post a few hours ago...and then who comes to MY door, none other than YOU! I'd have to say that a three-layered german chocolate cake is worth a 1,000 words. I felt like doing the same thing--crying--as I was just having one of those "what am I doing here" moments. I'm not sure what I did to deserve it. I'm not sure what to say (*drip, drip*) but THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANKYOU!

I agree! I got two darling notes from two of my Beehives and they were most sensitive and adored. I love personal notes and need to write more of them....

I have a stack of thank you notes from months ago that I never mailed. I always feel awkward about sending note to people.
