I think I can, I think I can...

When my mom was here, she commented that she wondered if she could give up candy for 60 days.

For some reason, I cannot get that thought out of my head.

Because my first response was, "Nope, I couldn't."

And so that seems reason enough to find out.

I am not going to attempt 60 days. That would just be foolhardy, with Easter coming up. But I am going to try to do it from March 1st until Easter, which is only 34 days. And I'm not giving up sugar entirely, just candy. (Oh m&ms, you are a cruel mistress.)

Surely I can do that, right?

Heaven help me.

But I just bought some Cadbury eggs for Creative Friday! Apparently I'm an enabler. I'll bring carrot sticks instead dang it.

I never used to eat candy, never, but now I eat it all the time. I still don't even like it that much! What's up with that?! Why don't I stop myself?!

wow, creative friday without candy. I can't wait to see what snack is on the table (snack mix, nuts, popcorn, fruit, salsa/chips, edamame?). I'll be watching.

Okay, I'm joining you!

I like having a "no candy buddy"! But it's not going to be easy....

When do you want to report?

Oh you can do it!

Griffin gave up candy for Lent but when I caught him eating a Tootsie Roll he clarified that he gave up hard candy and not all candy. Oh well.

Luci gave up email for Lent.

Oh golly.
I just started a package for you... full of candy.
No sweat-
I can think of better things!!!

I am proud of you for trying- I think it's a great thing to do. One year I didn't eat one single piece of Easter candy. I also lost 35 lbs that year.
I found it again- and the Easter candy.
I hope it works for you & it's not hard... for long. The first day is the worst & i suspect you've already passed that? :)
again- you are an inspiration!

The cousin thing has happened to me before! I am not close to family on my dad's side and I ran into my cousin on a SLC trip. The sad part? Jason recognized him! Talk about feeling stupid.

Your grandma sounds like she was an amazing woman.

Good luck with the candy. That would be pure torture!

I am joining you by coincidence- I have done it before and decided last night that I needed to do it again. Day one and I am almost to bedtime! YOU CAN DO THIS!

(Might I suggest posting something else quickly so that bowl of colored bliss doesn't taunt you?)

You can totally do this! It'll be interesting to hear how it goes, what was hardest.

Good luck! If I were you I'd have to purge my house in order to make it work.

My college roommate and I did this for lent one year - only we gave up all sugar. You should have seen our delight when we discovered sugar free fudgcicles!

I'm going to ride on your coat tails and do it with you...is that okay?
