Sunday thoughts

Sunday thoughts. Hmmmm.... I don't have any, exactly.

Max got sick again. Then Lucas started coughing last night and woke up with a very sore throat. They both stayed home from church. I have spent much of the day shaking my head in bewilderment. Lucas just finished his antibiotics, for crying out loud! I am beyond frustrated.

The theme in Sacrament meeting today was faith. Specifically, that faith requires action on our part. I think I'm good at the faith part, and need work on the action part.

I only had two kids in my Primary class today. However, one of the two was a little boy who has enough energy/distractibility/wildness for all eight. I came home feeling completely exhausted and wondering what in the world I can do differently to keep him engaged and at least kind of sitting in his seat.

The highlights:

- A good dinner, and Emily coming over tonight. She brought us "cake guts," the remains of some cupcakes that didn't turn out quite right. While I've never had cake guts before, I can give them my highest endorsement. I embrace all delicious from-scratch cakes, even when they come in the form of chunks and crumbly bits. We put them on top of ice cream and sprinkled them with toasted coconut. Yum.

{cake guts}

We didn't do anything but talk a bit, watch tv, and knit. I hope she wasn't bored to death. I hope she hasn't decided we're too dull to hang out with, because I love having her around.

- I never regret going to church. Even when I come away not feeling filled, not feeling like I got a huge boost, I still am glad that I went. I'm happy that I can say that.

Cake guts sound delicious.

Referring to the above, After 2 IVF attempts and 4 years of other fertility interventions to get Evie here, Dave was SURE I'd want Evie in a bubble. He did this hilarious impression where she'd be in kindergarten telling the kids "I'd sure love to play soccer with you, but I can't, onaccount of this bubble..." I even put her on the dreaded school bus this year, sans bubble or tears. Look whose evolving??? Would you like any 4T clothes? Just the niceest stuff? I seriously have too many to store and save for Stella. If not, no pressure, but after the French goodness you shared with me, I thought I'd offer.

I don't think having them in a bubble would work, because I'm sure they'd find a way to still get sick...it's like their hobby or something.

I'm glad you got to go to church so that you could start your week off being uplifted before Smotherhood kicks in too strongly.

I felt completely exhausted after doing my Sharing Time twice yesterday, maybe I need to carbo load and drink gatorade to keep my strength up.

I highly doubt Emily was bored to death. It sounds like a nice, relaxing evening spent with family rather than roommates.

Jill is correct. I love love love the evenings I spend with you. It's like being home, which is my favorite place to be. Talking, knitting, and watching tv with people I love is about the best way to spend an evening.

love you!
