all is well

It's been a rough week, but things are looking up.

Eva came down with a particularly virulent stomach flu on Tuesday night, which then made its way through the whole family. Max was the last to succumb, on Saturday night. For some reason, it always started at night, which means that I haven't had a good night's sleep all week.

The good news: I felt good enough to get some groceries on Saturday, and to bring up our Christmas tree. The kids put up the little trees in their rooms and we are all happy to finally have some Christmas cheer around here.

The bad news: I must have worn myself out with the few things that I did, because I had a fever again yesterday and we had to stay home from church because Eva was the only one feeling well enough to go... This thing seems to have left us wasted and weak and with no appetite.

So, looking on the bright side -- at least we had no sickness during our trip home, and now hopefully we will all be healthy for Christmas! We have had some good moments at home all together, and I am looking forward to many many more.

And thank heaven for internet shopping.

How nice would it have been if Eva could have gone to church alone? The thought of it is cracking me up.

I hope you're all done with your illnesses for the season and can enjoy the rest of month in good health!

WELCOME HOME! I can't believe how fast time went. How is it possible that it is already over?!!? Can't wait to hear about your trip.

I can't stop laughing over Jill's idea of Eva going to church alone.

I'm so sorry you have been sick! I hope this means everyone will be healthy for Christmas.

Don't do more than you absolutely have to...GET WELL!

Thank heavens for internet shopping, indeed! Have you signed up for an Amazon Prime trial? I did last year and added all of my family to the account, then after Christmas I canceled the trial before I was charged. My sister signed up this year and added the rest of us to the account. It's FREE two day shipping on most items, and like $5 overnight shipping on most items. No strings attached, totally easy to sign up and cancel. You can ship to multiple residences, the people on your account can ship to multiple residences, it was a MAJOR life saver last year. I kept forgetting people that I needed to send gifts to and I was able to jump on Amazon and send them little gifts with free 2-day shipping.

Oh, and there's no minimum purchase amount like there is for Super Saver shipping. I can't recommend it enough!

I had the same thought as Jill and laughed and laughed. The thought of her little legs dangling above the floor as she sat bossily on a bench by herself singing all the hymns and taking notes during the talks. It could be a children's book. Oh delightful.

It is not too much to say that internet shopping has saved my Christmas and my marriage on several occassions.

That is the worst to all be sick? I sure hope you are all feeling better. That is no way to come home from a trip. Yes, hallelujah for internet shopping!

I thought the same thing about Eva going to church so you could all rest- Ha!

Sorry about the sickness Michelle! I hope you all feel better soon.

And "amen" to internet shopping. It has been a way better experience than any of my in-person shopping has been.

I loved reading your blog while you were in Paris...what a great experience. I'm glad you are all home for the Holidays and I hope your doggie didn't miss you too much.

Yikes--what a nightmare. Is everyone on the mend now? What about YOU? Ok?

Your final sentence made me chuckle. Amen!

ohhhhhh sickness...the only bad thing about it, is that you are truly resting, but not really enjoying it....
