scarf wardrobe

Every time I live in Paris, I find myself accumulating a new scarf wardrobe. I don't wear scarves as much at home (because I am rarely that cold), but here, we're outside a lot more, and for longer periods. Plus, everyone but everyone wears scarves here, so it's pretty much a wardrobe essential!

I saw this ruffly scarf at Monoprix (large grocery store chain) and had to have it. I'm such a sucker for ruffles. You can't tell how cute it is against the gray shirt I am wearing today.

This shows it off to better advantage. Besides being black and gray and ruffly, it has the added advantage of being thin and not too hot!

I started making this one way back in July (more ruffles, of course). I ran out of yarn with only 1 1/2 rows left. Jill brought me some more yarn so I could finally finish it! Thanks, Jill. It's made out of a super-soft bamboo yarn, and it's oh so cozy. I wore it out on a walk today and it kept me a little too warm.

I just finished this one. I made it for a Christmas gift. It's super soft and cuddly, but I don't know if it's as cute as the picture on the pattern.

This is the newest addition to my scarf wardrobe. I don't know if you can tell, but it has the occasional metallic thread running through it.

I love my scarves. But that doesn't stop me from wanting a new one when a great one catches my eye...

I only learned how to the the trencita...part which is probably the most basic part of knitting!!!!!!! but I can see how you can go wild with allllll the YARNS and all the beautiful softness that is out there to be had. So cute. I love scarves too and you have inspired me to wear them- even though I don't spend much time out in the cool temps. I just bought one a LOT like the first picture. Cute ruffles are hard to find where I normally shop but I love how they look and am excited to feel as stylish as my sweet friend, Michelle!!

I'm loving all of those scarves! Scarves are just fun. I expressed to Emily a bit ago that if she wanted to knit me a ruffly scarf for Christmas, I'd love it. Ha. And let me just say that I love the scarf pictures that show your pretty, lipsticked lips. Very artsy.

They're all fabulous, but i LOVE the red one! I am a sucker for pompoms. Am i mistaken, or are there poms on the red scarf?

You have killer lips.

I so loved wearing my scarf in Paris, but don't seem to really need one very often in my life here. Perhaps if I flanarize here I'll be outside more and need a scarf. I am wishing we'd been able to buy those ones we saw at the shops at Rivoli before those awful sales women closed up shop on us!

You look so beautiful in that pink one you made, and I love the red one as well. Maybe I should have gotten that to go with my gray coat, why is it that I could only focus on my red coat at the time? I think it had something to do with me trying not to spend money. Aargh.

Oh my goodness! You are a beautiful scarf model. Truly. Elegant. You've given me some courage to wear some that I've been given.

I agree with Neighbor Jane - you were meant to be a scarf model. You are such a talented knitter (is there another term for that?) I am so impressed with what you have created. You are so talented!!

I am loving all of your scarfs!! I always look at them in the stores but then get very self conscience, wondering if I would look lame in one and since I don't know how to tie them I just sigh and walk on. One day I want to buy one and wear it right.

I think the red scarf is my favorite! and I love that it has some metallic threads in it.

You look great, in all of them. I love the red... and the pink....

I'm sure it is no surprise that I can't pull off a scarf....

Claudia gave me a scarf for my birthday this year and its very similar to your grey one with ruffles...its beautiful. Its doesn't get very cold here in SoCal but I have already worn it a couple of times. I am learning to wear scarfs and enjoy how it just makes my outfits look better (its no secret, I do have an office job).

Love the red and pink one...do you think that you'll ever sell them???? If you did, I would buy one.

I love the pink one and the pink lipstick too!

I love LOVED every bit of this. Oh the style...oh your lips!

ooooh! ahhhhh! I love your scarf collection too! Is that pink ruffly one the "just enough ruffles" pattern? Because I have been thinking about making that.

Your knitting skills are phenomenal! Wow. Ruffles? That's ten levels above anything I could ever do.

I too love scarves. I find that one colder days I can get away with just a scarf instead of wearing and lugging a jacket around. Scarves are so much easier to put on and take off if you get warm, and unlike a jacket you can easily stow them in your purse or loop it through the handles of your bag. My scarf of choice this year is a deep orange number I bought at WalMart, of all places. Now I'm thinking that I may need more than one...:)

We wear a lot of scarves here (and boots and hats and gloves) so they are a major fashion accessory. Jaclyn even has some light weight ones she wears in the summer with a t-shirt!

OH, and I just started knitting so I am in total awe of knitting a scarf with ruffles, but I want to learn how!

I have noticed your darling scarf wardrobe in your pictures lately! I am so sadly not in any way in need of a scarf, but I do love to make them. So, maybe I'll just start making them for you since they suit you so well!

Sarah came home with quite a scarf wardrobe. I bought 6 while I was in Paris and have continued to buy since coming home. I think they are a current "hot" accessorie here, on sale everywhere! love reading about your adventures!

I've been wearing scarves much more often as well this season, and I love them! I love love love the pink and green ones you've made. Where did you find the pattern for the green one? I have a pattern for a cable scarf that I'm going to get to work on as soon as I can pick up a cable needle and learn how to use it!

Love you!

Oh, and being a sucker for anything grey, I'm in LOVE with the thin, ruffly scarf.

Oh this is a collection worth being jealous of...I showed my Olivia and she was drooling. (She is my scarf girl.) Those ruffles are just so feminine and lovely. Someday I would love to have a knitting lesson and a nice long chat on one of your Creative Fridays.
