Christmas Sunday
Is there any better Sunday throughout the year? (Well, I guess Easter compares. And the Primary program. But still...)
My parents arrived last night and so today was especially fun for me, as they were able to go to church with us.
Our choir Christmas program was wonderful, from the music selection to the enthusiastic director who was clearly having a lot of fun. Of course, I always love singing with my mom. (She even got Lucas to sing the closing hymn!) But the best part of all was that there were seven little Primary-age girls singing with them. They were gathered in small groups around music stands, and they knew all the songs! They even watched the director. It was like having little angels up there singing, it was the sweetest thing.
After the program, our bishop spoke for a few minutes about the humble location of our Savior's birth, and the way in which the events that transpired there made it a holy place. Similarly, he exhorted us to transform our homes into holy places because of the things which happen within them. It was very touching.
In Young Women's, we had a guest who performed a dramatic presentation of Mary, Jesus's mother. She portrayed Mary and spoke of the tender feelings she had for his son at His birth and throughout His life.
It was a beautiful day with plenty of food for thought and contemplation.

That is such a sweet picture of Eva and your mom. That is so great that they can be here with you.
I got to sing in our choir today also and we had some girls performing also. I love what your bishop said about transforming our homes into holy places. Our families need this so much.
That's a beautiful picture of your mom and Eva. I'm glad they arrived safely and were able to go to church with you today. Our choir program was wonderful as well and our choir director is hilariously enthusiastic, it's so endearing.
I love the idea of making my home a Holy place.
Love the "tissues required" label.
Sweet pic of your daughter with your mother.
I'm the lucky one---singing with you!
And the playtimes with Eva, hugs and kisses from the boys, good food and blogging tutorials!
Now for some earlier nights and later mornings.....happy to be here.
Sacrament meeting was wonderful and I loved the Bishop's comments. I always have the tenderest of thoughts for Mary and her humble birthing of the Savior.
I'm pretty content sitting by the tree and relaxing.
(susan's friend) I've had some "technical difficulties" since the last time I commented but have since created my own blog, so now I'm back in business. I love the picture of Eva and your mom! They both look so happy. I'm glad she is able to spend the holiday with you guys.
I always crack up when I see pictures of Eva, cause I've got a daughter who's her age, too. Did I mention that I'm turning gray?
PS--I love your tree with all of the fruit! Does your mom have anything to do with those ornaments?--it's hard to tell, because you both are dripping with style. I adore them! and also the ones on Jesse's tree.
hurray your parents are there!!
I love your bishops comments- you are right- yesterday was one of the best sundays of the year
Love the pics you included. You must be thrilled to have your mom there. Eva certainly is!
Our Sunday Mass was focused on the awe of Mary and it was truly moving and goosebumpy...As a mother I couldn't hold back the tears during our Homily.
and i may need to "copy" your tissues required label. so true. genius, i tell you!
What a darling photo of Eva and your mom. They are both beautiful!
Thanks for sharing that thought of your bishop's. That is very touching, indeed. I'm glad that you had an inspiring and enjoyable Sunday!
the Sacrament program sounds wonderful. I love Christmas and everything related it. We had our program a few weeks ago it just makes Sacrament meeting that much better.
Your Mom is beautiful. I love the picture!
I know everyone has already said it, but that top photo is simply gorgeous. Church meetings the past two weeks have definitely been the trigger for my holiday feelings this year. Your bishop's thoughts were so pertinent and applicable. I love that.
"Tissues Required." An excellent label, to be sure.
My dream is to have a Christmas Sunday with all of us together! I love singing with all of my beautiful family and only wish we could all be together more often.
Love the picture of Eva and your Mom!
Merry Christmas Michelle!
i hope you are having too much fun to post...
