Yesterday, I snapped these pictures of Fall beauty when I dropped Eva off at preschool.
Yesterday I witnessed -- and participated in -- this history-making election. I am profoundly struck by his vision, his optimism, and his willingness to tackle the huge problems we are facing right now. I am thrilled and so moved that America has elected an African-American to its highest office. I am so proud to be an American today.
Today we woke up to this. I knew a change was in the air.

that is hilarious. great post. i'm sitting here in 8o degrees hoping for change!!
I feel like fall just passed by without giving us enough time to enjoy it! Your pictures are beautiful.
I'm excited to see what the next four years bring with Obama as president!
I was so wishing I took pictures of the fall yesterday so I could do a post like this today! Really enjoyed yours.
OH your banner! And the fall photos, so pretty. I am so not ready for snow and all that comes with it.
Love the contrast. It does feel like the change is here.
Oh, those yellow leaves! I had to create my own fall today by having my dead palm fronds chain sawed off the palm trees in the front yard. It was much less charming!
I loved your middle paragraph. And really, how can you not be in awe of anyone who is willing to take these problems on their shoulders and call them their own. It's not a job I would want. But, I'm thrilled that he got it!
Your Fall picture is beautiful. WE didn't have any snow stick in Provo.
I too am delighted about Obama. I did a post about it inspired by your comment on Jessie's.
we still have fall here - well, 75 degree fall. but definitely pretty. no snow here.
enjoying the *change* in the air.
I felt a change yesterday too... as John Stewart said last night on his show, New Yorkers were even making eye contact... and smiling at each other! GO OBAMA
Your cute pumpkins make me mad. (My pumpkins, unpainted and "dirty," got stolen off my porch.) I wish I could do a cute pumpkin display! Maybe indoors.
I've been loving all the leaves on the ground this week and the golden light of fall. I thought I was okay with the snow yesterday, but as it got brighter and brighter throughout the day I remembered how much I dislike the white light of winter.
oh the pumpkins are lovely. inspired by your mom? i must remember that one next year...
does it make them last longer by chance? and make them squirrel proof? we shall see!
oh michelle, your words ring true in my heart about our president elect. to see the outpouring in grant park? the civil rights activists crying? t0 hear of the 106 year old woman casting her vote? my heart (and eyes!) have been filled to the rim since tuesday.
I love your falling leaves. Hopefully after the snow melts they will still be there.
I have no idea why anyone would want to be the president of any country. It was a cool experience to be a part of this election.
i am so proud to be an american!
I don't share your feelings for Obama, but I can always have a hope for his ability to make good on his committments. We'll see.
Fall is fab for sure. I love it!
I'm sort of jealous of your snow! Operative word: "sort of." I'm ready for fall clothes and it has been quite warm here.
It is fun to feel like you're part of history. Even though I didn't vote for Obama, I recognize and appreciate the history in the making. It was funny because just today I was watching an episode of House where he was treating a black senator who wanted to run for president, and House's comment was, "There's a reason they call it the White House." Hmm. Things have changed.
