it's just not right

I haven't got much time to post tonight, so I thought I'd just leave you with this beautiful object... Denise, Mom, and Jessie and I saw this in Wal-mart over Thanksgiving weekend.

What is wrong with this picture? OK, aside from the fact that it is hideous.

Water. Dripping through supposedly lit candles. It's things like this that can cause you to lose faith in humanity.

No, there's really no need to combine water and candles like that, is there? Unless they're gorgeous floating candles in a bowl of water on a table, in the garden, set for a summer evening soiree!

Did you take a photograph of that in the shop? If anyone saw you, they'd have thought you were snapping it because you adored it. Imagine if a friend or neighbour saw you doing that and then secretly bought if for you as a RAK? Eeek! RAKGW - RAKs Gone Wrong! Hahaha.

Funny... to imagine your disgust at something like this... it looks like we know the perfect kind of white elephant for your family parties.

I can't believe you have a wal-mart category...and no, there is no accounting for people's taste. This is feng shui gone BAD! Plus it goes against the laws of nature, which is just wrong.

Well, first what were you doing even glancing at decor in Wal Mart? Don't you know better?! ;)

Second, (and this is a total aside, because Alex did not understand my amazement at this) I glanced a the decor in Wal Mart yesterday, and I noticed that they have way cuter Christmas mugs there than Target.

Your label for this post is hilarious! A water fountain candle feature, that's quite the concept. You know you want it...

Yikes. Your labels fit my thoughts on it perfectly.

This is hideous- I can't be around indoor fountains at all- even those in better taste, although I'm not sure I have ever seen one- well maybe one. (I immediately have to go to the bathroom.)

I GOT THE CHRISTMAS TAGS TODAY!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM. I walked around Ben Franklin Monday afternoon looking for a punch to make my own but they had so many sizes I left overwhelmed. I walk around there a couple times a month when I drive ballet carpool so I knew I would be back.
Thank you so much it was so thoughtful of you! patsy

I don't know what is more funny -- this "object" or your label! That is something else. Does it really light up? Oh my. Oh my. Oh my.

Hmmm...this probably explains where Jessie was when she disapeared for a few hours one evening that weekend.

Okay- the best part of your post is your label. HA HA.. It seriously is cracking me up and I cannot stop laughing- even as I type this!

I bet you $10 bucks that my crazy next door neighbors have one in their house to go along with their hideously BAD outdoor decorations.

I always find it interesting what people think is attractive or decorative. We live in an area that is ridiculously over priced. It has been interesting to drive around my town and looking at the holiday decorations, especially the lawn decorations. It has only cemented my notion that money doesn't mean you have good taste!! Sorry totally off the point, but that hideous candle reminded me of the hideous decorations I've seen this holiday season.

You crack me up. I love the picture I have in my mind of you indignantly whipping out your camera in walmart to document the monstrosity. And we thank you, yes we do.

Who buys this and thinks, "Wow, that will look perfect in the guest room!"?

Oh - my son Maxwell is turning one in January and he is going to have a snowflake birthday party. I totally want to find wrapping paper like yours to wrap his gift in, make invitations with, etc. I am hoping to find some but haven't yet. Wish me luck!

PS: your labels are so cute!

I am definitely frightened by the thought of this being given to me. How would you react? Amie's right, watch out at your next white elephant party, ha!

I do love the label you put on this post, there is no accounting for some people's taste!
