all is well

Hooray for Becky at the North Carolina passport office!! She happened to be at work today, and I got through to her. She took pity on my plight, and managed to locate my application (she likened it to finding a needle in a haystack). She physically walked it around to its various stages of printing, packaging, etc. in order to make sure that it went out today. She even called me later this afternoon to verify that it had been picked up by FedEx! My hero. I just could not even contemplate the hassle and expense of delaying our flights, or worse, me having to travel alone with Eva...

Today was the cleaning party that Jill organized. Jill, Jenn, Collette, Jana, Amie, Melinda, and my neighbors Heidi and Traci helped clean and do yardwork. Collette got Max and Lucas to help her outside -- brilliant. Jessie helped by taking Eva all morning.

They all got so much done that they kept asking me for more jobs and I couldn't think of any more! I can't remember the last time my house looked so good. They even mowed the lawn, pulled weeds, and swept out the garage! Now I can focus on the bedrooms -- packing and cleaning. I don't feel nearly as overwhelmed as I did last night. Thank you everyone!

Jana & Melinda brought their babies -- here they are playing together

Jenn is a pro -- she can hold a baby, make him happy, and dust at the same time. Just one of the reasons we call her our own resident baby whisperer.

Collette, Amie, and Melinda cleaning up the garage!

Jana, Heidi, and Lucas

Jill tackled the ugly task of cleaning the bathrooms.

Collette giving us a lesson on packing clothes to minimize wrinkling.

Needless to say, things are definitely looking up today!

You do indeed have the greatest friends! AS your mother, thanks to all of them for doing all the things I can't do living thousands of miles away. You are a lucky girl. And that's the truth! Glad all is going well.
I'm supposing your blog will keep us in touch while you're in Paris! Sleep tight tonight and try not to worry. Love you.

I'm glad that you had so much help getting you out the door.

I had no idea you did't have your passport. That's a little frightening, but so lucky you had such a helpful woman. I still need to get mine. Speaking of passports do you send the acutally birth certificate or a copy? I still don't know.

I can't imagine a better way to enjoy cleaning. With friends for a friend. I bet everyone had a good time, I know I would have. Love the one with Jenn cleaning with the baby, too cute.

I love when we find the helpful people in life right when we really need it. So glad you found Becky, gotta love her!
