lunch with Jill!
On the first Saturday after she started her new job, we met up at Los Hermanos for a leisurely lunch. It was so nice to just be able to sit and talk and catch up. (It had only been a week, but it was a momentous week.)
Plus, it was interruption-free! Bonus.
We agreed we were glad we didn't get seated underneath this guy. That might have affected my appetite. (On second thought, maybe I should get one of these for my house...)
Yesterday, Eva and I met Jill at the Jr. High for some Cafe Rio in the car. It's possible, but not the easiest way to do it. It was well worth it, though, even for a short lunch break. I've been going through withdrawal. (Creative Friday withdrawal for sure, but just Jill withdrawal in general.)
Eva wanted to sit on my lap. And tell jokes and riddles and sing. So while it wasn't leisurely or interruption-free, at least we still had some much-needed face time.

You are a great friend and the chips and salsa look HEAVENLY!
Oh Michelle. The comment about the buck mount in your house made me laugh and then your epiphany made me smile, too. I remember when Cali said to me (after I'd had an exasperating conversation with Ande), "You're not very good with twelve year olds, did you know that?" She was right. Twelve and a few other years) were hard for me.
How nice of you to be thankful for lunch with me, even when it means you have to go to the hassle of picking up lunch, coming all the way to me, and then eating in the car for 35 minutes! That's dedication for sure, and I'm grateful that you're willing to do it.
As Randy and I were watching Survivor last night I was reminded that you and I haven't been able to discuss it at all...that's just not right.
When I was little we used to visit my aunt in Provo all the time. I would beg to go to Los Hermanos. That, or Brick Oven Pizza.
Happy to get the report! I have been wondering how you would do without your Creative Friday outlet and I've also been sad to think that we, your fans, would not have the reports to look forward to.
Good luck to both of you.
I'm better with the younger ones, too.
That was so thoughtful & Fun of you to bring lunch to Jill. You two, peas in a pod!
Fun little lunches can do so much to brighten a regular day!
