1. I had a successful coupon shopping trip this week. This photo isn't representative of everything I bought, because I also had a bunch of produce, some meats, makeup, 3 bottles of body wash, and Toy Story 3. But I did get about 10 items for free, and I did spend $83 and save $50! I was on a coupon high.
2. Melinda sent this dinosaur mask/hat as a good mail package to Eva.
3. After procrastinating my fall yard work for about a month now, I finally did it today. It's been about 65 degrees here, but it's supposed to get cold next week, so I knew I had to bite the bullet and get it done. I cut back the bushes and perennials, trimmed the roses, planted some bulbs, and swept the driveway. I still need to mow the lawn one last time, put away the hoses, and put the Christmas lights on the bushes. (I won't turn them on yet, but I am always glad when I get them on before it gets so cold.) I've got work to do tomorrow!
4. I took a trip here today (after my YW presidency meeting). I always feel a little weird going in there and shopping for wine for cooking, especially because I really do not fit in with the demographic there, but then I remember that my grandma used to do it, too, so it can't be too bad.
5. When I was cutting back the roses, I found these, the last blooms of the year. I brought them inside to enjoy. They are so fragrant! Lucas came wandering in and wanted to know what the gross smell was. sigh.

Blame the stomach flu for Lucas' distorted sense of smell. How delightful to find blooms this late in the year!
That mask/hat is hilarious! I think I might have been frightened by it, but then- I'm not a dinosaur expert like Eva.
I need to find some yard work motivation, but it may not arrive before the snow on Tuesday. oh well.
I would love to help with your yard work tomorrow if you need it! Call me!
P.S. I would text/call you about this, but it's 1 in the morning.
Your savings is impressive! I always forget I've got coupons...I really need to start making a conscience effort to get organized before I go shopping...
Love the dinosaur mask...It's so funny that she's such a dinosaur lover...it seems so random...
I haven't put any new bulbs in this fall...I usually need to do yearly plantings because I dig up so much by accident during the spring/summer months...
I'm always so in awe of spring's splendor...and daffodils are one of my personal favorites...(as are alliums...have you ever planted those?)
Fall is HANDS DOWN my favorite time of year...I love the picture of the leaves...They take my breath away!
Those roses are so pretty...Autumn roses are sometimes just as glorious as June's--It's like nature's little gift...
That is too funny about the liquor store! Can't you buy wine at the grocery, walmart, or a gas station? That's where I get ours. I mean, I drink and I still wouldn't want to patronize a liquor store. They just seem so shady to me.
Those leaves are super cool! And oh Lucas--roses smell wonderful.
ok that is so meant to be Eva's hat.
the roses are lovely.
i still have a bunch of bulbs to plant from my online order. I found this cheap place that ships from Amsterdam. have no idea how these bulbs will do in this clay like soil.i can only hope
it was 80 degrees today, So I still have great weather to plant!
Congratulations on your successful coupon outing! I'm jealous. I feel like I'm still a few steps away from being able to do that and it's really frustrating me!
That dinosaur hat is too cool! It was so nice of Melinda to send that to Eva.
I'm glad you took advantage of our glorious Fall weather and were able to tackle your yard work. It's so satisfying to get it ready for winter. Those daffodils are going to be so happy next spring!
I adore Fall and have been smitten with all the leaves. They were literally falling off the trees today even though it wasn't windy and I had several on my windshield this afternoon which I found pleasing.
The liquor store visit is funny. I don't know if I could bring myself to do it.
Leave it to Lucas to find the smell of roses gross!
P.S. Why do you have comment moderation enabled?
In the later years of her life, with her vision failing, I would sometimes have to accompany Grandma on her yearly trip to Applejack Liquors for apricot brandy (for her fruitcake). This was only thing Grandma ever wanted me to do that I really didn't want to. . . ..
Who knew yards were so much work? Oi.
Seeing that 7-Up makes me want a Shirley Temple. Mmm.
One of my friends gave me the same kind of dinosaur hat for my birthday!
I also feel funny about going into the liqour store for something for a recipe. Oh well... So much for avoiding the appearance of evil. I'm sure someone will see me there some day and it will be a chatter session all over the neighborhood...:)
