Giverny

On our way back to Paris, we made one last stop at Giverny to see Monet's home and gardens.

I'm certain I took a lot of the exact same photos I had taken on previous visits, but I just couldn't seem to help myself! And although there are a lot of photos in this post, I showed a lot of restraint considering how many I took...

It is no small feat that I got her to smile for a picture.

Even though a lot of the tulips were nearly spent, I still found them to be beautiful.

It had just rained, which I always enjoy.

It's very different in the spring than in the summer when all the climbing roses are in bloom and nasturtiums spill over the paths, but I like it both ways.

chickens with attitude!

and the other bridge - I wonder if it's possible to ever get that photo without visitors??

The way to get pictures with nobody around is to arrive right at opening (at least when you go in the middle of April). We practically had the place to ourselves last year. It was bliss!

I can't imagine there is ever a bad time of year to visit Giverny. The crowds are unfortunate, but even on a busy day with a long wait to get in- it was amazing!

I could happily visit there many times (as long as I didn't have to wait in line for 2 hours) and take the same shots.
