before & after

Eva has been wanting to get her hair cut for a few months. She wanted it to be in a short bob, kind of like Whitney's hair used to be. I've been putting her off in order to be sure that she was set on it. I didn't want her to get her hair cut and then regret it and have to wait years for it to grow back!

Saturday was the big day.

When we got to the salon, we discovered that her hair was actually long enough to donate to Locks of Love! Eva was totally into the idea.

Her ponytail was so thick, it took a lot of cutting. (I took 5 pictures of that part of the process alone!)

So weird. (Incidentally, I didn't know before that you take your hair home, put it in a Ziploc, and then mail it to Locks of Love. Lucas walked into the kitchen, saw the Ziploc of hair and freaked out a little bit.)

I love the way you can see her smiling. She really knew what she wanted.

She loves getting her hair washed. Me, too.

She was all smiles throughout.

The new hairdo! I think she looks older, which hurts my heart a bit, but I am totally enjoying how smitten she is with her new look.

It's absolutely darling. Her t-shirt and little mermaid necklace will remind you that she's still just a little girl!

That is one adorable little girl! And what a sense of style. I let my mom decide my hair cuts for far too long. When she would take me to the salon she always told them to give me the "Dorthy Hamill"..needless to say I needed some of Eva's independence and style!

And that necklace is just so sweet.

Wow, that was a super long ponytail!! But her hair still looks pretty long and is super cute like that. Hooray!

I think her hair still looks pretty long too, and it's completely adorable. I always loved short bobs on my girls.

She is lucky to have such thick hair! And very pretty both ways.
Jaclyn donated her hair to locks of love last month, but she didn't tell me she had to mail it in herself. It was a special even on BYU campus, so maybe they did it differently in that situation.

It actually happened! I remember the haircut debate from a year ago when Jessie was in Utah (can you believe it was just a year ago)? Speaking of Utah, I'll be out there a week from Saturday! I'm so excited to see you and Eva's new do!

I love it! Good choice, Eva.

I am feeling just a wee bit sad for you and all the blow drying dates you are bound to have early mornings....she does look older. Too pretty, for sure!

Her hair is so cute. Livy happened to be with me when I read this post. She has been begging me to do the same thing to her hair and now that she has seen Eva I know we are going to have to get it cut. Why is it such a big deal to cut their hair?
