Sunday thoughts

Today is Lucas's 12th birthday.

He was ordained to the office of Deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood. Marc ordained him, and my dad and Max also stood in the circle.

The Deacon's quorum came over to talk to him about some of the specific duties and activities he will now be involved in.

Lucas requested oatmeal rolls, corn on the cob, watermelon, and chocolate peanut butter cake. (We supplemented the meal for those of us who are not quite so picky with pulled pork and green green salad.)

It was a happy, happy day.

I am so glad that Lucas is worthy to be a Priesthood holder, and so happy that my parents could be here to help celebrate his special day.

What a day! I love the picture of the three of you.

I'm so glad you thought to grab a picture of his fellow quorum members. That is fun to see a picture of them all.

I'm so glad you had such a great day.

Those little Deacons look younger than Lucas! I think it's adorable that they came over to show him the ropes.

You are a great mom, you know?

Beautiful pictures of Lucas with you and Marc and with your parents. He looks so pleased looking at his cake -- who can blame him!

I guess my sweet little Lucas is well on his way to becoming a man...*sigh*

He looks cool, cute, and good. I like that. Good is really good.

I got a little tear in my eye as he was ordained. To see a righteous young man is a tender thing. Glad we could be there.

I think that cake gifted me with a few pounds!

I can't believe that Lucas is a deacon and priesthood holder now! What a wonderful day for a mother. You have raised some pretty stellar sons.

And I'm glad that you decided to supplement Lucas's menu with something as crazy as pulled pork.
