milestone

Last night was Eva's preschool graduation. The kids walked in to Pomp and Circumstance, with cameras on all sides. It was hilarious.

Eva was chosen to hold the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance. Don't you love the way she's holding it with her right hand, her left hand over her heart?

Her sweet teacher, Mrs. Young, is just darling. She taught them so many songs, and they performed many of them to show what kinds of things they have learned.

Singing "If you're beautiful and you know it, shout hooray!" (The boys had their own verse, too: "If you have big muscles and you know it, shout wahoo!")

When the diplomas were presented, Mrs. Young announced what each child had chosen as his or her future vocation. Eva's was, of course, a paleontologist. Mrs. Young invited Eva to come to the microphone and tell everyone what a paleontologist is ("a scientist who digs up dinosaur bones").

She was beaming the whole night through, so excited that we were all there to watch her on her big night. We got McDonald's afterwards, and she laughed all through dinner.

I have a feeling this picture will be a bittersweet reminder someday.

Me and my happy girl, the preschool graduate!

It's a weird feeling knowing that we will never again have preschool in our family...

This post is too cute. I just love all of those pictures! Congratulations, Eva! I can't wait to see how her paleontology career pans out.

And in that last picture, Eva looks remarkably like Lucas.

This is a busy time of year, and it is so awesome that your whole family managed to come out for Eva's special night!

Oh, what DID Eva say about palentologists?

Aren't "the last time"'s so bittersweet?

This looks like it was a really fun night. I know what you mean about bittersweet reminders. I feel like I am already having so many with Ry. We figured out that when Blake goes to High school, I will have a kid in middle school, two in elementary and Ry will be in pre-school. This will all happen in two years. So sad.

The photo of you and Eva is so darling! Congrats to the preschool grad!

Try knowing that you will never have a kindergartner again! I know I should be singing alleluias down the street but I'm not very good company for myself and will miss having my funny kid around at least some of the day!

Their graduation cap headbands are too cute! I love it that she got to tell everyone she's going to be a paleontologist! Did she mention the pink motorcycle?

That's a good picture of Marc, Eva and the boys...everyone's looking so much older (except Marc of course).

I love your self-portrait as well. I'm glad it was such a happy night!

First- SHUT up. You did not have snow.
And I love Eva's movie star teeth in your SP.
So cute, all.
Bella has her end-of- year program on Thursday morning. Luckily Timm's parents will be in town so they can come, otherwise it'd just be me and Fi. She does look big.

Oh bittersweet! My Jared is gradauating from preschool too, and I am so sad. Last one that we know of in our home. Now I get to send him off to full-day kindergarten, and it makes me so sad. I really don't know what I will do with out him around, and all that child-free time??!! Eeek!

No way. Is she seriously going to kindergarten this year?!

And Jill is right, Marc doesn't seem to age.

I remember when my daughter had her promotion from pre-school to kinder as well. It just seems like yesterday...time goes by so quickly and I love the fact that you're document every bit of it.

Those headbands are a scream!
Love them!

That really is a great picture of Marc and the kids...

Ellie's "award ceremony" wasn't as official as Eva's...
I wish I would have done a self portrait of the two of us at the end of the day...I was a melted mess, though, by the time we left the picnic...Gotta love the east coast and the humidity!

I think we we have two cutest preschoolers in the world between Eva and Bella!

Cute accounting of the day. I think it's just great that you even think of "last times"...before blogging and photo docs, these events seemed to be just another day. Cute photos, all.
And, she does look too big.
