sprint

All the super-busy days, the short nights, the lack of down time -- it all hit me this afternoon. It may have been a by-product of a great book club get-together last night. I slowed down, I ate a lovely, leisurely meal, I just sat and talked with friends. It was delightful. But maybe it sent a message that those things are fun and fun is good. Or something like that.

I've been thinking that I haven't been all that stressed. At least nowhere near as stressed as I usually am pre-Paris. But I've been having headaches every day and recurrent waves of nausea, so perhaps my body is trying to tell me otherwise.

Jill took Eva and Lucas for the day. Again. She picked them up at 9:30. (All that, and she provides pick-up and delivery as well!) What I did with the day:

  • returns at Walmart
  • a quick stop at the beauty supply store
  • I got my pedicure!! (and finished my book while my feet soaked and were shaved and pumiced to a fare-thee-well)
  • went to the bank
  • return at Nordstrom
  • return/shopping at Lane Bryant
  • Costco (couldn't leave it until Saturday!)
  • 4 loads of laundry
  • cleared all the toys and books out of Eva's room (after culling some for packing purposes)
  • cleaned out my bedside table and book basket
  • emptied my closet of hanging items I won't be taking

I will freely admit that this surge of productivity has given me kind of a high, but today I just hit a wall. I'm weary. I don't know how much longer I can continue at this breakneck speed. But I don't really have a choice, I have to sprint to the finish.

as a all or nothing type of person I understand these sprinting modes. I seem to have the crashing modes for often but love when i sprint.

i am sure you will feel a little sigh of relief when you sit on that plane and catch up on some much needed sleep.

i applaud you for not missing book club and hanging with friends, i probably would have skipped it and then put it on my regret list. way to go!

Does it help to think you only have two more days for sprinting then hopefully you can have a restful sabbath and then you leave. The end is in sight! You can do this!

Hooray for Jill- isn't it amazing how much faster errands go withOUT kids!

I hope today is peacefully productive- just find the rhythm!

You have been maintaining this crazy pace for weeks, so it's no wonder you're getting headaches daily and feeling nauseous (are you remembering to eat?).

The good thing is that the finish line is in sight and that the Eiffel Tower is on the the other side of it!!!

You are amazing!

I'm so glad you got a pedicure & time with bookclub friends- some how that kind of time off really works for me too. AFter having my inlaws for two weeks- they just left- and many difficult doctor's appointments etc. I'm going for a pedicure & having a creative friday TODAY!!

I can't believe how fast time has flown & it's nearly time to leave for Paris. I hope it all goes well, it will- you are nearly there.

enjoy the journey

Hannah Montana, you're making me tired. You've been at an absolute fever pitch for so long, I hope you were able to just sit and relax during that pedicure.

Returns at Wal-mart are like entering the inner circle of hell.

Almost there, almost there...

I'd hit a wall after getting that much accomplished too! That is a LOT Michelle and it's got to feel good to have more and more behind you.

I'm laughing about Kristi's comment about you catching up on sleep when you get on the plane. I want kids who let me sleep on an airplane. How do you train them to do that?!

How much longer Michelle? I'm hoping you only have to run a bit more. It's no fun crawling across a finish line :)

What a task to move around the world!

I know all to well what you mean. All summer I surprised myself with my stressfree attitude about moving and no where to go.

I'm sorry your hitting the wall. (Why does it seem like that's inevitable?) You can do this Michelle especially when surrounded by such good friends. Just keep your eye on the prize...Paris.

Your sprinting has been inspiring. While I'm not going to Paris, my list is long. You've done a great job of keeping up the pace. I hope you get to slow once you get there. Couple more days and the city is yours.

wow, you have been indeed very productive...and the image of the sprint til the end, it is just the biggest high...I am sure you will be exhausted by the time you get in the plane, but you should feel very accomplished in that you got ready to go, and in doing so, you de-cluttered, and actually took a peek at all your stuff...that is the best time to keep and or let go of things....

Gah, it's just killing me that Emily and I were unable to come and help out, all because of a bum car.
