Happy Valentine's Day!

My mom sent a delightful package with number cookie cutters, pink Silpat mats, sprinkles, lips cookie cutter, orange cutting board, valentine napkins, treats, monogrammed list pads, and individual valentines for everyone in the family. It's always exciting to find a package from her on the doorstep!

Eva had great fun writing her name and attaching treats to the valentines for her preschool classmates.

We made Lucas' valentines with the Webicon site. He was thrilled with them. I asked him what his friends thought, and he said, "They thought they were really cool until I told them they were kind of like Obama's campaign poster!"

Marc gave me white tulips and these cute damask cards and list notepad (he knows me well). In his card, he said that he ordered me a new tag to add to my Lisa Leonard necklace with my 2009 word! I've totally been wanting one of those. I gave him a fancy down-alternative pillow, because his allergist told him he should stop using our down ones.

Eva and I made these teeny tiny cupcakes (inspired by the ones on Patsy's blog). I used this recipe and I liked it, I'll definitely use it again. I used candy cups for the cupcake wrappers, so one recipe made about 70! We delivered them to friends and neighbors today.

My final valentine design for 2009. I was having such a hard time coming up with something, I was seriously questioning this tradition...

Today was a fun day -- Marc let me sleep in, then I made the cupcakes. Marc and I went on a lunch date to Pizzeria 712 and then to Barnes & Noble. When we got home, I took Eva on cupcake delivery duty, then we came home and got everyone bathed for church tomorrow. Now to relax and watch a movie!

Your mom always sends the best packages. It must be fun to anticipate.

I love lucas' cards, great idea, and of course your cards are beautiful as always. I never understand what your talking about not having ideas. From what I can see you are full of them...all of them genius.

btw what a great tradition to send out cards each year.

Your mom does send the best packages! Maybe I should start to raid your mailbox or doorstep at every major holiday... if your packages go missing, you know where they went!

Your cards are so cute- you never seem to run out of great ideas, so I don't know what the problem is!! I love it. Sounds like you had a great V day.

Pizzaria 712 is my new favorite eatery. I love the short ribs w/ polenta. Have you tried the raspberry bread pudding? Oh my.

Your valentine is scrumptious, and so are those sweet cupcakes. How you fit so much creativity into one day or week or LIFETIME is amazing. I wish...

xoxo
