Last night we wrote letters to our new president for Family Home Evening. I downloaded the cards from 2cleverblog.com's eavesdropper email (sign up to receive it on their blog). Thanks, Kristi & Stacy for the great idea and darling graphic! (They have cards you can send to the outgoing president and the new president, but I rightly guessed that it would be enough of a struggle for my family to do just one!)
It was so fun to see what the kids wrote in their cards -- I scanned them to have as keepsakes. A wonderful new tradition!

Lucas's letter and a selection of Max's. (Eva's was a drawing of Randall from Monsters, Inc. She signed the back and scribbled all over the White House...)

i love these cards. eleanor designed and wrote her own card. i did not scan it but i did take a pic. it was priceless.

i loved this idea! i wrote one myself but didn't think to print some for the kids - what a great idea! :) you're so smart to scan before you send, they will love having those one day.
I love the picture of the house and the font and of course the cute pink curtains! Your kids are great, and I love it that they can defend their ideals and ideas, especially for their age.
I saw this on 2clever but haven't done it yet. YOU are clever to think to scan their words!
p.s. how kind of Lucas to make an "exception" this once, for the president and all . . .

Dang if my creativity can be used for something good to get kids to write to a president than I keep my clever brain (even though it often gets me in trouble)

great idea Michelle. I think Bella would be way into this seeing how she actually got to vote for him. Love to read what your kids wrote, especially max who seems to think like an adult. Tell max I like his handwritting.

I am loving all that Max had to say. What a fantastic idea! I was just thinking that I wish Mya was old enough to send something, but she could draw something and I can send my thoughts. You are raising such well rounded, informed kids. They are so lucky!
