just what the doctor ordered

I've been sick since Sunday night - the unfortunate kind of sick where you feel worse each day, instead of better. I'm not trying to be melodramatic, it's just that everything hurts from coughing. And I had to miss book club last night! Waaah.

Anyway, Jill came over to rescue me yesterday.

She brought me chicken noodle soup and a delightful turkey/bacon/avocado/focaccia sandwich from Kneaders. Then she sent me to bed, cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed, and got Eva down for a nap! I actually slept for over two hours, in the middle of the afternoon, and even finished my book when I woke up!

She has such a way of sweeping in and saving the day.

When Marc came home from work, he brought in a package from Kelly:

A box of citrus from her own trees! Lemons and blood oranges.

Thank heavens for good friends. A nursemaid and vitamin C in a box. Just what the doctor ordered.

You would do the same for Jill, I'm sure.

I have a friend like that here too. Once when I was pregnant with Everett {I get extremely sick} she came over and watched a movie with Ian and made Terry a banana cream pie for his birthday [his favorite] while I slept and tried not to move for fear of vomiting.

Do blood oranges grow in Utah??

It's so great that Kelly's box-o-citrus arrived while you're ailing. How glorious to have an orange with the stem and leaves still attached. Wow.

I really hope you're on the mend, you sounded so awful yesterday.

That is such a pretty looking orange. How nice to have so much kindness your way. I hope you are feeling better. You have what we had last week. It took a week and now we are all on the mend.

The mere sight of that beautiful fruit should be enough to begin the healing!

Thanks again, Jill.

It's just like Elder Holland says...angels seen, known and mortal. You are surrounded by them!

I love the quote cited by April! Jill is indeed an angel.

My mouth waters just looking at that glorious box-o-citrus! Hope you're feeling better soon. There is simply no time for a mother to be sick.

Nothing like fresh citrus. Yum!. Love the photo too.

A nap for you and Eva, lunch and the ending to a book. You are loved and taken care of. What a great feeling.

Jill is a wonder -- what a blessing to have a true friend like that in your life.

I'm so glad the lemons and oranges arrived. I picked out that leafy orange just for you because I knew you were a girl who would appreciate it's leafy charm. I really hope you're feeling better!
