spt -- Sun

I know I've said it before, but seriously. I'm 37 years old, for heaven's sake! Why can't I figure out how to avoid getting sunburned??

I wore a new suit to 7Peaks yesterday and got a wacky burn -- splotchy all over my body, which shows that I did apply sunscreen, I just did it poorly and unevenly. My shins even got baked, and I don't think that's happened since high school!

But the most embarrassing thing is my face:

Apparently I had a strip of sun protection right across the middle of my forehead, and the rest got burned. Good grief.

Oh Youch. Good luck learning your lesson, I'm 45 and still have not learned it (but then long division took me awhile, too). I always plan to just get a little color . . . but the overdo it in me wins every time. Once you've got the secret, please teach me.

Oh, man!
I haven't learned my lesson yet either. My current problem is that my left arm is much darker than my right one, due to my AC only recently getting fixed, thus causing my left arm to be exposed to the sun every time I drove my car. It's pretty embarrassing.
I hope your burn is feeling better today!

Your burns kind of crack me up. I'm sorry that you have to suffer through them, but the consistency of them is amusing.

Maybe that spray sunscreen doesn't give full coverage? How in the world did your shins get burned?

I burn like that- splotchy no matter what I do to prevent it- that is except stay out of the sun.
You still look gorgeous! I am so proud of you for taking your kids to the water park- amazing...

Ouch! I hate sunburns! When we were in Cancun, I put sunscreen on several times, but one day, I got a sunburn on my face and forehead...since I was wearing big sunglasses I ended up looking like a racoon! Nice!

I hope your burn disapears quickly!

Amie just saw a thing on tv about the top 3 sunscreen brands not working! So hooray for those of us who buy generic brands!

I'm right there with you, Michelle... a very similar color graced me shoulder & neck last week at girl's camp (oh the elevation), and I was definitely feeling the burn.

That is so funny! I have often had mishaps with the sunscreen too. I loved the time I had a handful of it and reached over my shoulder to get my back. Somehow I never rubbed it around and I ended up with a handprint right on my back. Nice.

Welcome to my life. I have pretty much made my peace with the fact that at some point I am bound to get skin cancer because I have had so many sunburns. Hope yours heals quickly!

Ouch. I know you were out in the sun a lot but I didn't even notice you were getting red?

Hope you have healed.
