{Jane was enthusiastic about my posting any and all Christmas projects -- she cracks me up.}
This was my final Christmas 2007 project, and -- you guessed it, I copied it!
It's a little book made of wool felt, and it's for keeping your needles. I, for one, can never ever find a needle when I need one, despite the fact that I have several pincushions and a sewing basket.
Amy H. has one of these little books, and I saw it when she taught her bookbinding class. I thought it was brilliant. I knew I had to have one, and I thought it would make a nice little gift for several of my friends and family members who sew.
They were easy, and pretty quick to make, and anything that gives me an excuse to use ribbon and buttons is a good thing in my book!

These little books are so cute, I wish I had more of a use for them. (Surely there's something I can do with them right?) I think this was a great gift idea on your part, who cares if the original idea wasn't yours!
i'm loving reading your blog michelle! your creativity is fantastic, i LOVE these needle books, what a great idea. i also really loved the old made new book you made for jessie, she will treasure that forever. good job inspiring the rest of us to get on it!
Oh, Michelle, these are so cute. I just read Little House in the Big Woods (a-g-a-i-n) where Ma made a needle-book for Aunt Eliza.
Are you absolutely, positively, without-a-doubt sure that you didn't do any more projects? How about you write about last year's then :)
These turned out so GREAT! Can I commission you to make me one? I loved the one she had, but haven't even got around to figuring out how to make one. I am serious, name a price! I have many a curved needle that needs a home.
OR give me a little tutorial so I take the guess work out and can just make a couple?
I don't even think I need to tell you how stinking cute those turned out. You did a fabulous job!
I love it when you post your creative ideas.
Thanks for the rolling pin tip too - TJ Maxx, here I come!

I am really going to do this~ I never can find my needles & my sister is a fabulous needle worker so I am thinking what a cute little Valentine gift!!
Love it - what is in the middle, paper or fabric?
Do I even need to say I'm impressed, or is that already understood?
I was SO happy to be a recipient of one of your fabulous creations- now I just need to get my craft room back and find all my needles who will now have a really cute home!! Thank You!!
I saw these in one of my quilting gift books...I have big plans to make them for quilt retreat this year. Yours are darling!
