This has been a week of great productivity for me -- and that is a sure ticket for feeling happy and satisfied in my book.
-- I went Visiting Teaching (and delivered a small gift).
-- I finally wrapped and mailed my Pink Christmas gift! (Recognize the wrapping paper, Jane?)
-- I finished the making of and shopping for gifts for out-of-towners.
-- I wrapped them all and shipped them! whew!
some of the packages I wrapped (soooo happy I picked up those snowflakes at Target last year -- they were 4/$1.00. And after Christmas, I bought more when they were 4/$.25!) I love wrapping paper, I love ribbon, I love being able to wrap gifts without being under the gun to just get it done.
-- I taught my piano lessons, with no dread whatsoever!
-- Max made cookies to take to Young Men's, prompting Lucas to decide that he wanted to make cookies as well. Never mind that he has never made anything in his life. I told him what to do but didn't do any of it myself. They turned out splendidly!
-- We managed to avoid going to Marc's work party, woohoo!
-- Had several conversations with Lucas about lucid dreaming. Last night he asked me for "dream ideas" before he went to bed. I suggested he dream he was Santa. He did.
-- another restorative Creative Friday
Jill and I took another Creative Friday self-portrait. Somehow the camera got switched to b&w without our knowledge. (Do you like that Star Trek is on the TV? Max was home sick from school.) Also, I discovered that I look WAY better when I'm standing on the right. What's up with that?
Today I was working on more gift tags. Thanks to all of you for your kind words about my tags! (especially for recommending an Etsy store, Patsy!) Actually, I copied them from an Etsy store. Not exactly, but they are pretty darn close. I designed them in Word and then punched out the scallop shape with a punch from the craft store. I'm so in love with that punch.
The girl who has given up naps but who still gets oh so tired in the afternoon. She has been crashing in all sorts of funny places and positions -- only for about half an hour -- then she wakes up all crying and cranky. If I can just sit down and hold her, she is perfectly, blissfully happy. There has been a lot of crying this week (hers, not mine).
-- We read a lot of Christmas books.
Now if I can just have another week like this one, I will be really and truly ready for Christmas. Merry, merry.

the tags and the snowflakes and the paper and the goodness - i'm catching some holiday spirit right here!
Your presents are so gorgeous! I think that if I ever got a present that looked that beautiful I'd have a hard time opening it! I love your tags too!
I don't think the fact that you think you look better on the right side is odd. I definitely look best if I position myself a certain way (off camera!) too.
These pictures are so beautiful and festive, I just love them all. You have such a gift for wrapping, anything coming from you is always a huge treat. Your gift tags are fantastic.
I'm so happy that you're in the Christmas spirit and that you're not stressed. I'm so impressed that you have mailed everything already, wow.
I looked better when I was on the right of the self-portrait photo too...but I see you didn't choose one of those.
Oh, I do! I do! I do recognize that paper. I was just thinking the other day how cutely wrapped your gift looked when it came to me last year and went and bought some tags to make like you did. I love your new tags, too. You're an inspiration. Those snowflakes are beautiful...Here's to another great week.
Amazing gifts! Gorgeous, you really have a talent for this.
(I still think you need an etsy shop) It never dawned on me that those were cut out with a punch! Thanks for the tip~ I'm gonna do that.
I love the black & white photo it's a great one!
What a great post~ very inspiring even though you've got a sleepy Eva you're getting so much done.
Oh I just left a comment on Jill's blog about you needing an Etsy shop for those tags too. Love 'em!
Your gift wrapping looks like a gift in itself. I am seriously wrapping-impaired and am envious of good wrapping.
I hope my Griffin still likes to bake when he is older too!
I love those tags. So great. I am excited to go to Target after Christmas while we are in California. It has been a year since I've been to Target.
There is nothing better than a productive week! Your gifts look amazing, and I am loving your little tags. I'm having a love affair with that particular punch right now, too -- using it on Christmas cards, etc.
I got my pink Christmas gift wrapped and boxed today, but due to feverish kids, did not make it to the post office. I need a week like yours! Here's hoping to another one for both of us!
There really isn't much better than a productive week! I love them, but need them more often!
I LOVE the tags. Now I am wanting the scallop punch which has never been appealing to me until I see your cuteness.
Your gift wrapping is a gift...absolutely gorgeous. I love your tags! They are beyond cute. And I so admire that you can think of next Christmas right after one just happened...I live too much day-by-day.
Lovely, all around! I especially enjoyed your close-up of hiss cookie - just like one I posted! - and all of the photos are so festive and pleasing. I adore your tags - the scallop edge is the perfect touch!
I want a week like that! I still have quite a bit of wrapping to do. I read "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" to my kids at the begining of the month, but we haven't cracked a single Christmas picture book.
i adore this post! love the cookie shot- beautiful! the snowflakes with your wonderful tags. ahhh.
i must locate one of these scalloped punches. is it a tool on it's own or for a machine of sorts?
I love your packages they are so gorgeous.
OH I am jealous of your productivity.
How is Jessie, I haven't been able to get her by phone or IM or email?
I LOVE your paper. I wish I would have bought those snowflakes at Target too. Your presents look lovely.
Again, I'm so loving your tags. They are darling!
LOVE those tags.
But what is really cracking me up is Star Trek. ??
Too funny.
I'm so glad you're in such high spirits. It encourages me to really embrace the season now!
Snap! I just bought that scallop punch last week. I used my differently though - I was making teeny little 'library ticket' envelopes for Erin's schoolfriends, and I used part of the punch for the cut-out at the top of the envelope.
I love your tags too. And the snowflakes idea in the sales is fab. I will try and remember that this year!
Eva looks lovely all crashed out like that. I read a book written by a mum once, in which she described looking at her sleeping son as something like 'a little man thrown, unconscious, from a high-speed train'. I can just see it!
