my (first) baby is 12!!

I can hardly believe Max turned 12 yesterday! I asked him when he woke up if he felt older. (I don't know why I always do that on my kids' birthdays, they always say no.) He actually said he did! Maybe because it's such a milestone birthday.

Marc ordained him to the Aaronic Priesthood. So hard to believe we have two priesthood holders in the family now! It's strange for me to think of Max going to opening exercises with Marc. And I know Marc will be excited to have a buddy to take with him to the priesthood session of General Conference.

I am so proud of my boy!

After church, we had a family party with Marc's parents, his sister Michelle's family, and Timm and Bella. We had his favorite cake, Boston cream pie. (Please ignore the chewed up dog bone in the background, what was I thinking??)

Max was thrilled to get 2 iTunes gift cards, a memory foam mattress topper from Costco (we have one and it totally transformed our old mattress), and a digital camera from Marc and I and his grandparents.

{It was also our 16th anniversary yesterday, but we will be celebrating that sometime in the future, as I am having double knee surgery today. :( }

I love you, Maxman!!

Oh, my guts hurt a little when I read your title. (When will I come to the realization that kids grow up?)

Such cute pictures and such a sweet post. He looks so happy. I'm glad you could enjoy the nice day together before your surgeries today.

Good luck! I hope you are able to heal more quickly this time without all of the pressure of getting ready and going to Paris!

Happy Birthday Max! So weird that you have a 12 year old and a 2 year old! He does look so happy and thrilled.

Good luck today- I am so glad you are not wasting any time getting the surgery done.

I can't believe he's 12 already and old enough to go to Young Men's and hold the priesthood. I can't think about it for too long or it will wig me out completely.

Good luck with the surgery, I'm feeling a bit helpless since I still have the brood here. I'll be thinking about you!

Happy birthday Max! I can't believe he's already 12--that's so crazy and cool at the same time! And happy anniversary :) It was fun seeing you last week!

It really scares me that it does in fact 'go by this fast'. Nate is only 5 1/2 but everyone, I mean everyone says it feels like only weeks went by as they start to get older.

I love the photos here, love that he 'felt' older and love his excitement over iTunes cards!

Happy Birthday Max!!

Happy Birthday, Max!
He looks a happy chap. Long may it reign.

Love the candles on the cake! What are they called?

Is that really true about the mattress topper? I'm crippled in the mornings and I'm sure it's our mattress that's the culprit.

I have almost exactly the same blouse on now to the one you're wearing in the pic. Snap! Mine is from New Look. Cheap as chips :-D

Good luck with your surgery too. Wishing you a speedy recovery (but take your time!) xx

Where has the time gone! My little Manman 12! He not only looks happy but he looks older....and a little uncommon for a new Deacon. I am proud and thrilled for him and wish we could have been there. The time will come I suppose. Wonderful photos to treasure. Keep me posted with the surgery tramas....sorry, I must expect them.

I'm catching up. First, the stamped eggs kill me. The date laid?!

Happy Birthday Max! My oldest is only 4 so 12 seems a lifetime away, but I imagine it comes incredibly fast. Bittersweet.

Best of luck with your surgeries!

Happy birthday Max!
Good luck with your surgery. I am happy that it'll help you in the long run. I am worried though Jessie told me that the doctor said you had to be in a wheelchair how would that even work with a 2 year old to take care of.
