Marc's parents are here visiting now and all is well: Eva has been unusually happy and delightful and Lucas has been wanting to go on excursions! That's what I'm talking about.
Lucas actually requested a trip to Notre Dame, so of course we had to follow up on that. He also wants to climb up to the top --which would be amazing -- but I really don't think my knees could handle the 445 or so steps. Marc may end up taking him back for the big climb. Can you imaging the photo possibilities from up there, right by the gargoyles? sigh.
I definitely have more zoom capabilities with my current camera than the last time we were here and I was enjoying being able to capture some details from the carvings on the facade.
I fall in love with Notre Dame all over again each time I visit. There is a hushed reverence that prevails there, even when it is packed with tourists (well, really, when isn't it packed with tourists??).
Ironwork is one of my favorite things about Paris, and catching a shadow is even better!
I've always been fascinated by all of the candles lit for prayers in the cathedrals -- it makes for such ambience -- truly a lovely sight.
Looking at these photos, I'm noticing that everything is rather gray and beige. But then, I guess that's right up my alley!

beautiful pics Michelle. I would love to take those steps and see the view. One of my favorite postcards from Paris is up on the Notre Dame with a gargolye and Paris in the background.
I love the picture of the lady with a bird on her head- and the iron work with the shadow. So beautiful. Glad the kids are cooperating.
Amazing photos! The iron work and candle photos are my favorites. I would totally frame those. I'm in awe of your surroundings!!
I love the photos Michelle, especially the details. It's so cool that you caught that ironwork shadow photo!
I'm so delighted that Lucas has decided he wants to go on excursions! That's a wonder.

MIchelle, thanks for posting your pictures. They're beautiful! I'm glad that Lucas decided he wanted to do something. What 's up with homebody children?
I loved Notre Dame, and I'm sad that I only saw the inside at night. I'm glad to have seen your picture of the rose window!
A perfect dose of Michelle's Paris for this Sunday.
Truly, truly, beautiful pictures. Thank you so much for sharing them with us!
I understand how you feel- I went to Notre Dame three different times while I was there and it really felt like falling in love all over again. It is AMAZING! And I wish I could have climbed the tower!
