Creative Friday & good mail

This is the very happy assemblage of stamps that Jill had on my table today. I don't know if she used any of them, but their very presence was a cheerful addition to my day.

Jill's case of essentials. Somehow it is comforting for me to see this little box on my kitchen table, it brings to mind so many days of conversation, companionable silences, and creating. I know I've said it before, but our Creative Fridays are sanity-saving to me: something to look forward to, a break from the everyday routine, a time for me to do something for me. Jill, I can't thank you enough for this wonderful tradition!

(Today Jill commented that I was living life in the trenches. It certainly feels like that to me sometimes, and somehow it helped to have someone else recognize it.)

and now for some good mail:

Robin sent me this cute handmade card (a triumph for her, because she doesn't think she's creative), patterned sticky notes, a great pen, and a Milky Way Midnight that I ate before I could get a photo!

Crystalyn sent me this lovely book and a wonderfully personal card. I can't wait to read it! Marc brings in the mail, and he actually said: "here's another present for you. The good mail just keeps on coming!" I think he's jealous.

And the queen of good mail herself sent me a way cute card, these darling green polka dot envelopes, cool brown chipboard letters I had never even seen, candies, and the gum that she says she likes because it tastes like a cleaning product (!). I enjoy the gum, but I don't really want to think I'm ingesting cleaning products...

thanks everyone for spoiling me yet again, and making my husband jealous.

Michelle,

I'm so glad you've reminded me of creative Friday's. I did these several years ago and forgot how important they were...I think I'm going to look around and see if I can't find some women to do them again.

Thanks for writing such good posts to read.

I would love to come to a creative Friday at your house...or at least be a fly on the wall.

I'm so relieved to know that my comment about you living your life in the trenches actually comforted you rather than offended you. Phew! You are amazing and I don't know how you manage a household of so many needy people. Oh Smotherhood!

I love it that you get good mail so often that Marc is jealous, he should be.

I would love to see Jill's stamps too. And your Good Mail, I love it! Milo must be a little jealous too, he always asks me where his Good Mail is. I guess I should send him some one day.

What exactly is it about the stacks of stamps that appeals so? A great photo, just brings about all kinds of joy.
You 2 are indeed lucky with the creative Fridays. And a frank friendship. And words like "smotherhood."

I'm very jealous of your creative Fridays. I need to be better about just making it happen for me, but honestly with my computer so close it's too easy to spend my time blogging. Though time well spent, it isn't helping my production level.

Great mail day. I'm bet marc is jealous.

I used to have creative days with my good friend in Oregon. She just moved here three months ago and we can't wait for us to have babies (probably the same day) so we can get together again and scrapbook. Something about being bound by naps and all. It is funny how much you look forward to days that could ultimately actually be the messier, busier day. But, to me all worth it, every second.

I hope you enjoyed it after your week. I have been thinking of you.

I'm back to comment, after reading Jill's post. I read it earlier but was not in the mood to be happy for you and your creative day with jill and good mail...
I'm better now! :)

I love what you said about Jill's essentials on your table and I love that Crystalyn sent you good mail- I think she is amazing! I'm hoping you and Jill will come join US for a creative day at my house!

Hi Michelle! I'm glad you found happiness and comfort in your creative Friday. Those stacks of stamps are so pleasing. Comfort and joy indeed!

I am reading "As a Man Thinketh" right now because of Crystalyn. What an amazing book. I hope you enjoy it. I have underlined practically the whole thing - although some weird part of me does not like how that looks, I just can't help myself.

Here's hoping that life in trenches is getting better. Wishing you lemon verbena fields and everything that makes you smile.

I need to get back on the good mail wagon. I haven't done anything in quite awhile.

I loved when I was scrapbooking a day a week with friends too. It is nice to have a down day in the week. I can't make myself do it alone but enjoy it when there is a "reason."

Ok, I have to admit that my favorite part of your's and Jill's creaative Friday posts is the pictures that you post of the supplies. Why does that make me so happy?
