more of what we've been up to

Yesterday we met up with Jessie and Bella to check out a scrapbook store we hadn't been to. The store was ok, not a huge inventory, but they did have some things we hadn't seen in other local stores. The best part was seeing how excited Eva & Bella were to see each other! {and, hey, what's more fun than tandem DumDum eating?}

Both of the boys went to play with friends after school, so it was just Eva and me hanging out and doing yardwork. She was thrilled to death that we were "playing" outside for so long, and thought it was hilarious to play with the gloves I needed to prune my roses.

Checking out an airplane going by.

Hannah sent me this fun package! I love those Heidi Swapp chipboard letters -- such a cute font, and what could be better than self-adhesive chipboard? Also, did somebody make that polka dot notebook just for me??

This morning Max went to take a 3 1/2 hour test to see if he can qualify for the advanced English program in junior high -- I still cannot get over that he will be in jr. high next year. He really wasn't too excited about the long test, so I took him out to lunch at the Purple Turtle and then to get his hair cut. {Eva's trying to feed him.}

Amy W. sent me this fun set of children's utensils. She said she bought it awhile ago, not knowing who to give it to, until she read my post about Eva starting to eat with a fork! So thoughtful, I love it, Amy.

Here's a shocker: Marc got up this morning and announced he was going to paint our bedroom today. (OK, so it wasn't a total shock -- we have been tossing around the idea of painting our room -- I just didn't know it was going to be this weekend!) Plus, we hadn't narrowed down our color choice from 3 to 1. Funny thing is, after our brief conversation about it this morning, he thought we had decided. I called my mom to pick her paint-color-genius brain while I was out and about, only to come home and find him painting already! Fortunately, it looks pretty cool so far. More to come on that...

Cute pictures of Eva. I love her outfit!

The weather has been so nice outside- I need to get out there myself today. Mya is going to love being out there.

I saw that notebook and knew you had to have it. Loved it and glad you like it too.

Tell Marc to come and paint my room too :P I like the color a lot and can't wait to see it all done.

I feel so out of touch and yet it's only been 2 days since we last talked on the phone, what's up with that?

Which scrapbook store was it? Did you get anything fun?

I love Eva's pig tails, and still can't get over that outfit.

That polka-dot notebook WAS made just for you. How nice to get good mail from Hannah and Amy W.

I'm totally shocked that Marc started painting your bedroom. That's a huge job (considering the amount of stuff he'd have to move out of the way) but rather exciting.

Painting is really fun (Nick and I did some painting this past spring) but I can't even imagine the death knell that would be reverberating throughout our apartment if he decided to make the executive decision on the color. Considering he is currently wearing orange flowered PJ pants paired with a bright green American Eagle sweater (he's not going out in it, but still)... I don't know if I'd trust him 100%. haha I am sure you and Marc have been together long enough that your AMAZING taste has rubbed off on him (I love the pictures of your stuff. I walked by a cute baby dresser thing the other day and thought, "That kind of looks like Michelle's style." IS THAT WEIRD? YES! YES!)

Love the pictures of Eva, her outfit is so cute! I have that same exact combi stroller!

wow, when I got into advanced english, I didn't have to take a 3 hour test, my teacher just said you are going into advanced english. I guess things change huh?

I hope your painting turns out nice! :)

Sounds like a fun day! I think it's so cute when little kids like Eva and Bella recognize each other and get so excited! Cute pictures by the way and score on the painted bedroom!

I can't wait to see pictures of your finished room... way to go Marc for taking action.

Eva looks ever so cute in those pictures, I love the vest. Your time in the backyard with her sounded like a blast.

I can't believe that Marc actually took the initiative to do a major project like that. I'll have to tell my sister. She's been trying to get her husband to finish painting their hallway for a year now! She'll be green with envy!

What new scrapbook store did you go to? I went to Archivers last weekend. I thought it was pretty good. They had a good selection of alpha stamps, some really cool storage containers (too big for foam stamps, though!) and some new stuff that I thought would be hard to find.
