trip to the pumpkin patch

As Jill already reported, we finally got to the pumpkin patch yesterday. Many thanks to Amy H. for telling us about the great place in Santaquin, I had almost given up on finding a real pumpkin patch. Max and Lucas thought it might not be as fun as the other places around here that have corn mazes and other stuff, but I'm too cheap to go to those places if I can avoid it!

It was amazing that all the pumpkins were only $1. I wish I would have bought more -- it was only after we got back on the hayride to go back that I realized I didn't get any for me, duh. I wanted some to spray paint and glitter for Thanksgiving decor, a la my mom. Maybe because I was carrying Eva, I didn't think to try to pick up any pumpkins. I didn't even get one for her! Luckily, Lucas got two little ones and said she could have one of his.

Lucas and Landon have made some selections!

I love how Max looks so happy and relaxed in this shot.

Eva giving the pumpkin some pats.

Whitney with her jack-o-lantern smile, holding a future jack-o-lantern!

Jill enjoying some of that scrumptious homemade ice cream.

The weather was gorgeous, the pumpkins still plentiful even though they were so very cheap!, and the kids had a great time exploring, sitting on the rock pile, pulling each other around in wagons, and of course eating ice cream.

Jill and I were happy because we got to take so many photos (111 for me). Click here to see my edited batch. The boys and I just spent a happy half hour looking through the smugmug galleries that Jill and I made of the event. (Thanks, Jill, for getting me to do smugmug!)

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that Max is almost as tall as me now?

I'm highly disturbed by how tall Max is getting, and how he seems like such the adolecent all the sudden. I'm also disturbed by the picture of the fat girl eating ice cream! Did I not just post about a blind woman thinking I was pregnant! Show some compassion for Pete's Sake.

I was wishing I had gotten more pumpkins too. I think the problem was that we had to haul them onto the tractor ride, so they were cumbersome. What were we thinking? Me and the kids ended up with only 4.

Cute pictures! I really like that one of you and your kids. Yeah John is taller than me, Emily, and Mom now--it's kind of weird for me. I love pumpkins, especially the pretty decorative ones! The first year we moved into our house, some jerk kids around stole our gold spray painted pumpkins and smashed them in the street-twice. I was so angry! I mean who does that? They were just cute. I'm glad you've never had that problem!

Only $1 what a steal! I paid $4 for mine at Sam's Club. Love the picture of you and your boys. Too bad your hubby wasn't in it to complete a soo cute family photo!

I am jealous of the $1 pumpkins. I love to have them around uncarved - that ruins them for me.

Fun pictures - it sounds like you guys had a great day, remind us about this place next year!

Such cute pictures! I'm glad you guys checked out that pumpkin patch. It's more in keeping with the pumkin patched of my childhood-not all of the hype that people seem to think is so necessary these days.

The picture of Eva patting the pumpkin reminds me of Kaitlin who had to kiss several pumkins herself. What is it with little girls and showing affection for inanimate objects? It's too cute, though kissing a pumkin? It's a little weird, but not so weird as when she was insisting on kissing her bananas before I peeled them!

What a fun day. It sounds like you and your boys have been doing a lot of fun things together lately.
I love the picture of you and your kids, you should print it and frame it.
Can't wait to see what you did with the pumpkins.

Great pics--sounds like a great day. So great that Jill was there to get a picture with YOU with the kids. I feel like I have tons of pics with the kids, but none with me AND the kids.

Your kids are darling!

Sounds like you guys had a great time. I can't believe $1 pumpkins. I am jealous you went to such a cool place. The photos are great and it's good to see Jill in one for once. It seems like she's always behind the lens.
