such a great birthday

First of all, Eva slept through the night last night! That was such a great birthday gift. Secondly, Marc took the day off work so I could do whatever I wanted. I slept in, and he brought me homemade pancakes in bed. Yum. Eva came in and helped me polish them off, along with drinking my smoothie from a straw, which I didn't know she could do!

I got up and opened the package that arrived from Grandma and Denise. A basket of cute blue and green kitchen goodies. Love it. Then I took a shower and leisurely got ready, laid on my bed and looked at a scrapbook magazine while waiting for my clothes in the dryer. Jill came over and we went to lunch at Training Table. Yum again! She gave me the Cathy Zielske book I have been wanting forever and for some reason didn't ever get & a gift certificate to Impress!! Then we hit the dollar movie to see Pride & Prejudice. Oh the romantic, Jane Austen pain of it all. Why isn't real life like that??

After the movie, we went over to Jessie's, where she gave me my incredibly cool gift (see photo: I feel almost as cool as Ali Edwards!) and Jill got to see the layouts she submitted for Hall of Fame.

When I got home, Marc and I went out to look at digital cameras. I'm leaning towards the new Canon S3 IS. Came back, put the kids to bed, Marc and I ate Thai food while watching American Idol and then ate the fabulous homemade German chocolate cake he made for me. I finally had a chance to check the blogs, where so many of you sent me birthday wishes. Now I ask you: does it get any better than this? I think not.

The S2 IS is going down in price because of the new model: you can get it on Amazon for $330. The S3 IS retails for $499, but since it won't be released until May 31, it's hard to know if any discounts will be available...

I'm so happy that your 35th birthday was such a success! Marc really came through for you with letting you sleep in, breakfast in bed, babysitting my kids so we could go out, making your birthday cake, and taking the day off work. Awesome, all of that is a gift in itself. You deserve it!

Happy happy birthday!!Eat lima beans, if you know what I mean. I love you and from all the pictures I saw from Dad's shoots while you were here , I am definetly old enough to have a 35 year old daughter. Sad sad sad, very sad, way sad, so sad, SAD. I'm glad I had you anyway.

I have to make one more comment about the Eva/straw incident! Denise has reminded me that when Ryan was about Eva's age, we were out at McDonalds, I think and I gave Ryan an attempt at my drink with a straw, he was sucessful, much to my surprise as yours, and I said, "Look! Ryan is drinking like a normal human!" Enough for tonight, back to work......sorry for the typos, I know that drives you crazy.

Sounds like a great day! Jill and Marc are quiet the duo...I love the picture with the big candles, your hair is SO long, apparently I haven't seen you in quite some time.

PS - I heard that if babies can drink through a straw they can also blow...so they can blow out their first birthday candle!? I don't know if it is just a wives tale but it worked with mine...hard to believe Eva's first birthday is just around the corner!
