To Do Lists

I don't know how I would function without my to do lists. I usually have several going at once, although lately I have been keeping one on the refrigerator, and that's handy. If I don't have a list and I find I have a little time on my hands (let's say Eva's napping and the boys are at school), I honestly don't know what to do with myself! I can end up wasting all my time trying to decide what I need or want to do! But with the handy to do list at the ready, I'm never at a loss. I just check to see what all those things are that I've been meaning to get to. (I do realize that this may be yet another indication that my memory is failing.) And don't even get me started on how good it feels to check an item off the list... now that, my friends, is one of my greatest joys in life. I'm not even kidding. Sometimes I will even add something to the list that I have just completed (and for some reason never got around to writing on the list) just so I can have the pleasure of crossing it off. Am I alone in this?

At any rate, yesterday I got to check off something that has been on my to do list for months: making shadow boxes for Eva's nursery. I finally finished them and I'm so pleased! It's hard to say which felt better: the finishing of my project or the crossing it off the list!

On my gosh! Those are so covetous. Now I don't want to do mine because they won't be anywhere near as cute. Or "classy" ;)Ridiculously cute. I also add things to lists just to cross them off. But I go a step further in my list-lust. I make lists of lists that I have to make. I'm not even kidding.

Woohoo, your new and improved blog looks fantastic; the colors are so much more you. The shadow boxes look darling, you'll have to post a picture of them when you get them on the wall (you really should post pictures of the nursery anyway because it's the cutest thing ever).

I also enjoy making lists and crossing items off. I don't do it as faithfully as you do, but I have little lists lying all around the house. I must say I also enjoy reading your lists when I'm at your house--it's just another way to see what's on your mind.

HOW do you do it? Your sister is right, covetous! I just won't think about poor Ethan living in my closet...
And I totally hear you about the lists! I love them! Lists are on my happy list- silly, I know. And of course I add to the list what I forgot to put on it, although that is rare because I break everything down. It isn't "clean kitchen". It is "scrub counters, sweep, mop, dishes, dust shelves..." The joy of crossing things off is great! And you can't go wrong if everything doesn't get done because it just gets moved to the next happy list!

These are adorable! I know what you mean about writing something down and checking it off - just to get that euphoric high.
