Today was the kind of day that just makes a mom proud.
Lucas gave his first talk in sacrament meeting. He didn't want any help preparing it, and he didn't show it to us when it was finished.
He did such a great job! He was very poised and didn't seem nervous at all. He got right to the point and shared pertinent quotes from the Conference talk he was assigned (it was about honoring the Aaronic Priesthood).
Best of all, it was the first time I have heard him bear his testimony. It definitely made me teary.
After church, he was set apart as the Deacon's quorum president. Our bishop gave him a wonderful blessing, in which he told Lucas that he would learn to discern and recognize the promptings of the Holy Ghost, which would serve him well his whole life through. He was urged to be a good example to his peers, told that he would be successful in school, and that he is to embrace positive emotions in his life.
Hallelujah!

What a parent payday! They're worth the wait.
How's the new ward going?
Wow, this is crazy, Landon gave his first talk in Sacrament meeting today too and he is also the Deacon's president, plus I just barely blogged about these same things...weird!!
That sounds like a very cool blessing for Lucas!
Wow!
