Christmas vacation has flown by. We realized that if we didn't seize the day, it would all be over without another Creative Friday. We couldn't let that happen, so Jill and Landon and Whitney came over yesterday.
The boys had a chess tournament, with guitar accompaniment when Max wasn't playing. Obviously. Also, Max was overheard telling Lucas that he was employing "the most annoying strategy ever." Hmm.
Eva and Whitney had some project time at the table, using some of the bijillion rhinestones my mom sent.
We had a package from Kristi! I don't know why, but it is so fun to get a package for both of us together.
Kristi sent me a self-stick monogram (only Kristi would know about such a thing) and a fancy journal. Jill said it looks like the kind of thing I should put my secrets in.
Jill paid Whitney to "babysit" Eva. They played nicely all afternoon, and I overheard Eva saying, "Whitney, I just love it when you come to my house!" Win/win.
Jill worked on her many, many Christmas cards. It's a big job! (I opted out of cards this year. I don't know why, but it wasn't even on my radar.)
I forgot that there was one more present under the tree! One my mom had sent for Jill and I to share. 6 spools of ribbon. We both love ribbon.
This is Jill's response to getting a phone call during Creative Friday.
The weather took a turn for the worst while Jill and the kids were here. When they went to leave, it was snowing, the wind was blowing crazily, and it was freezing! So of course, Jill decided to take several trips so she could take out our trash and recycle some boxes. What the?! Then she called me, nearly an hour later, to say that they were finally home. That's dedication.

I can't wait to see what you do with that ric-rac ribbon your mom sent.
Being willing to let the storm build its fury while you work speaks volumes about the time you spend together.
I'm so glad we were able to fit this Creative Friday in! It's crazy that 2 weeks off work sounded like so much time, but hasn't really turned out to be. Aargh!
I'm giddy about the ribbon and the tiny mailbox!
I'm so glad you were able to have another Creative Friday! And I'm getting a kick out of Whitney's sequin hat.
Hooray for Creative Friday!
