thoughtful notes.
I received this card from Jill on our first missed Creative Friday and it brought tears to my eyes. The good kind.
Today I was putting clean sheets on Max's bed and noticed (not for the first time) the cards he has displayed around his bed with magnets.
He has cards from both sets of grandparents, Aunt Jessie, and his first cello teacher. I read through a few of them and I could see why he would want to put them where he can see them frequently!
Thoughtful notes are kindnesses of the best kind – they're not that difficult to write (with a little practice, anyway), hardly cost anything, and they have such a positive impact on the recipient. As a mother, I am grateful that my child has such an uplifting collection!

That typewriter photo is killing me with its genius.
I love that Max has held onto all those kind thoughts- rare in a teenage boy.
I love that Max has those pictures from 3 or 4 years ago of him and me! So funny!
You know I totally agree with you and am always thankful for the thoughtful notes that come my way. I have a huge stash of them because most of them are too nice to get put in the recycling bin. I love knowing that something I write has the potential to make someone happy or touched, that is always my goal.
THoughtful notes are really great. I am horrible at writing them but I sure do love getting them.
That is so wonderful that Max has so many great ones to hang up. That is priceless.
There are so many reasons why keeping a blog is so wonderful...this post is one of them...I just love seeing life's little random moments captured and showcased...
The picture on the card Jill gave you is really great...
How sweet that Max thought to display those cards and notes...
I love the softer, nostalgic, thoughtful side of boys. All is not lost.
you and jill's fridays are still a reason why i believe in miracles.
that is just the most beautiful relation ship between friends. i always love hearing your thoughts on it.
Love that Max has those wonderful notes! I saw a friend the other day that I only see every couple of months or so. She told me that she had been thinking about me a lot because she had pulled out her favorite thanksgiving card to decorate her sideboard and in them was a thank you note that I had written her a couple of years ago. She told me that she loves to put it out each year and it made me so glad that i had written it!
