memorial day

Eva and I took a walk to the cemetery on Monday. It was later in the day, so I thought things might have calmed down there, but it was crazy busy.
We brought some roses from our garden and talked about Lola for a few minutes. I told Eva what a beautiful baby Lola was, and what a sad time it was. We talked about how wonderful it is that we know she is not gone forever and that we will be able to see her again someday.
Someone had left a potted calla lily on Lola's grave. Eva couldn't fathom who else would possibly know Lola.

I said that maybe some other family member was in the area, or that maybe someone noticed a grave with no flowers and decided to add one. Either way, we liked it.

Oh that's so sweet. We went to the cemetery as well and put flowers on baby Thomas' grave.

That is sweet. Every time someone leaves a flower on Clara's grave, I feel so humble that someone remembers her.

That's so sweet that someone put a flower on an empty grave. How thoughtful. And I'm sure Jessie is thankful that someone is close to visit Lola's grave.

It is humbling- it means so much to me that you always remember her and bring her your beautiful roses. It is especially meaningful since we can't be there to do it ourselves. The lily was from Timm's brother Matt and his wife Tara. They were visiting and you may remember they have their twins buried in the same cemetery. Thank you again. Love you.

This is the first year that we didn't make it to the cemetery. We always go with Jason's parents but his dad is still to sick to leave the house and we spent the day with friends up at Primary children's ICU.

It is very sweet that you always remember Lola.

We drove by multiple cemeteries at different times of the day on Monday and they were all busy. I love the sea of flowers and flags on Memorial Day. What a wonderful opportunity for you and Eva to talk about eternity.

I think that is so wonderful of someone to put flowers on baby Lola's grave and what a comfort it must be for Jessie that you are there to look after it as well. Miss you!
