Eva has been watching me work on some embroidery projects recently. Yesterday she asked if she could try it out. We went to get her a hoop, as I had used up all of mine.
We chose some fabrics from my stash that would go with her room and I got her started. She is making a multi-layered primitive flower.
She is thrilled to be sewing, and I'm pretty excited about it myself! I've waited a long time to have a little crafter by my side.

Oh Michelle, I'm excited for you! What fun lies ahead.
A few years ago I finished a pillow Cali started when she was a little girl. (Remember candlewicking? all those knots? she did the first hundred or so and I finished the last hundred fifteen years later. What was I thinking giving her a two hundred knot pattern?) I love it when the girls and I are doing projects next to each other. It is so satisfying. I'm so happy Eva is doing it with you. Don't forget to show us the finished project (hopefully it will be before 15 years).
That top picture is the cutest thing I have ever seen. That needs to be framed and hung on the wall somewhere!!!
Oh, for sweet. So cute!
Oh! Dreaming of those days....
wow- I never had that much patience... I tried- but no.
Hoooray for EVA!
isn't it the best to have little company? this makes me so happy to see.
It's very cute that she's starting so young! Good for you for encouraging her creativity!
I am so loving this! It is so sweet that she wants to emulate you! I think that is one of the best things about daughters. Please post photos when you are done!
Uh, that should have said, "Please post photos when she is done"!
I don't have the skills or the patience but love the image of you two crafting together. Those little fingers working the needle are so cute.
Sooooooooo cute!
Oh, this is so sweet! Let the circle be unbroken...sniff, sniff.
