some current favorites

this toy -- I want to make one!

This book -- finally started it last night.

Homemade cookies have always been a weakness of mine, but I took a page out of my aunt Denise's book: package cooled cookies 2 to a sandwich bag and store in a ziploc in the freezer. My boys have been thrilled with their lunch treats and the cookies are defrosted and fresh when it's lunchtime at school. Added bonus -- I haven't been eating them all!!

This photo of one of our backyard trees -- which will be mentioned again in tomorrow's post, aren't you excited?

This girl: every time I pick her up from preschool, she runs towards me yelling, "Mama!" in her sweetest, happiest voice. It's so endearing. And almost makes up for the fact that she was sickly and whiny today.

This album. I'm a little late to the Rufus Wainwright party, but I am smitten. I am listening to this album on a loop, and when I wake up in the morning (or the middle of the night, as the case may be), it's in my head.

This foundation. My mom turned me on to it. I believe it's called "Simply Ageless." Would that it could truly live up to that claim. However, it provides greater coverage that I apparently need now that I'm looking old, and it's easy to apply.

LB has some pretty cute toys. I just started my second giraffe from Itty-Bitty Toys. It's an adorable pattern.

Broke a tooth while driving!? OUch! I guess that's what happens to nice girls who don't fly the bird-- I'm sorry I couldn't resist.

I'm even later to the party! I just googled Rufus Wainwright. So if I were to give him a try, which song would you suggest I start with?

This was a fun post!

I slept in this morning and then read "The Help" in bed for an hour, I'm loving it.

Those Ranger cookies you've been making are so good, I'm definitely going to make some.

I love the photo of the wet tree!

When Eva is being sweet, she knows how to do it up right!

Is that expensive foundation? I need some good coverage!

okay I have been worrrying all day that now you think I am the kind of gal who flips people off while driving. I can honestly say I have never done that... not since jr. high or maybe sixth grade & I felt horrible about it!

Frozen cookies have never stopped me from eating them.

Sadly, I went to the dentist and found that my upper, back left molar has a chip in it and needs a crown. @&*!&#*^!!

Maybe I should lay off of the frozen cookies.

Jill -- the foundation is Cover Girl & Olay, it's about $15 but I watch Smith's and Rite Aid as they are always having sales on one brand of cosmetics or another...

Barb -- Try In a Graveyard. I find it irresistible. As I do Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk, it's more about vices and cravings in general than cigarettes!

I love these kinds of posts!

I've been thinking about reading The Help, but I never handle novels about Blacks in South well.

Great idea with the cookies, great idea!

Oh, how I love the Lion Brand Yarn website. They have the cutest patterns (well, ok, they have some pretty terrible ones, too, but mostly I find things I want to make!). I decided that this is the year I am going to really learn how to knit. I can knit a little, but I'm still too intimidated to try to read a pattern. I did find that my favorite knitting Youtuber had a lot of new videos. So, I'm going to break out my yarn stash, buy a few needles (doesn't count as part of the craft ban!) and learn. Jeremy's going to be traveling a lot in the next little while, so I am envisioning myself sitting on the sofa with the fireplace on listening to Glee on the DVD player. Bliss!

Great cookie idea! I've been wanting to make cookies, but not actually have to eat them--and of course I would have to eat them if they were in front of my face!

LOVE the tree. happy sigh.

This post is so simple and yet so delightful and such a great record for you... it makes me wonder why I can't finish a blog post. I'm really screaming now- good thing no one is home.

I love these posts.

Jill just told me that I should read The Help.

I love finding a good makeup. I have seen that one but never tried it. For some reason I am surprised your mom wears Cover Girl (like I should know!)...
