much improved

Today I had no fever, and I was able to go out shopping with Michelle and the girls and leave Eva at home! It is so much easier to ride the metro (and do basically anything else) without having a stroller and a very opinionated 4-year-old in tow.

I showed them the gorgeous Opéra Garnier and then we hit the stores. Well, not so much stores as store. We walked through Printemps, which is more of a window shopping locale unless you are planning to spend the big bucks. We went into Galeries Lafayette so that they could see the amazing interior dome and architecture. But we spent a couple of hours in H&M.

The girls were in heaven. It was fun for Michelle and I to see them be so excited and to help them pick out cute clothes and give them our opinions once they tried them on. Can you imagine anything more fun for 12- and 14-year old girls than bringing home clothes from Paris??

I really should have taken more photos of the whole shopping experience, but I was too involved with finding cute clothes, holding armloads of clothes to be tried on, etc.

I was totally loving this display. Loooooving it.

When we got back, Michelle and Bob took all the kids to go visit the Catacombs, only to find that it is closed indefinitely (bummer). Eva and I took a short nap.

Michelle and I went for a walk to buy massive amounts of chocolate for her to bring back for friends, employees, etc.

And tonight, Michelle and Bob took us out for dinner! The first time we've eaten in a real restaurant so far this trip, and it was delicious. We went to our old neighborhood favorite, Le P'tit Troquet.

A good day on all accounts.

That display is the coolest thing ever!! I just love it. How fun would that be as wall paper or something?

I'm so glad you had a good day and were able to shop without Eva!

It was so nice of Michelle and Bob to take you and Marc to dinner.

Sounds like a delightful day! I LOVE the display as well- how to mimic it somehow?...

I'm glad you felt better AND had a fantastic day. Especially since you had a not-so-fantastic one so recently.

Yes, yes, I imagine wearing something to school and then having someone ask you where you got it so you could nonchalantly say, "Paris" would be very exciting.

What did you order at the restaurant?

I LOVE La Opera! It was so much more amazing inside than outside to me. That was one of my favorite buildings in Paris. I also loved Notre Dame and The Muse de Orse (sp?). And the metro is pretty fun too. But walking around Paris is also a neat experience. Have fun for us all. _Diedre Gray

I am in love with that display!
I like Jill's idea of using that for wallpaper...

I didn't know they had an H&M there...

I feel guilty admitting it (well, sort of) that things go so much better when Ellie is out of the equation...I can't imagine trying to absorb Paris and all of it's charm with her hassling me about stuff...Good for you that you got to have some "Eva-free" time for a little while...

I'm thinking about you right now as it is 6:30am here and you are probably well into your Fabulous Friday...Enjoy!

P.S.--Correction: I should have said Friday Flaneries rather than Fabulous Friday...(as I'm catching up on your past posts, I read the part where you gave your day an offical name)

That is so true about the 4 year old! They can be lots of fun but they can also really slow everything down and sometimes just put a stop to anything!
Glad you're feeling better!

What a wondeful day!!!! Can't wait to take my daughter shopping in PARIS, BARCELONA or MILAN...that would be a real treat for both of us.

We have only been home an hour and Kristen has already changed into one of her new outfits! I had such a great time - and the dinner was INCREDIBLE! I am still thinking about the lamb...so tender...hmmmm.

That black and white graphic is way too cute!

A few hours in H&M watching cute young stylish daughters sounds ideal for sure!

H & M is one of our favorite stores here too.

Who wouldn't want clothes from Paris?

Love that Opera house - we went there our first day in Paris so long ago.
