We went to Cosi! My favorite place to eat lunch. They make their own bread in a wood fired oven -- it's a little bit like naan, flat, yet puffy. Warm and delicious. We always order ours with roast beef, roasted onions, and bleu d'auvergne cheese. Oh, and topped with chives. It's a little bit of heaven in your hand.
Looking out the window at Cosi.
Can you believe this bike?! I've never seen another like it.
I am determined to find out what these trees are. With their camouflage bark in such interesting colors, they look like an impressionist painting to me (and I see them everywhere I go).
One of my favorite spots in the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Medicis Fountain. The urns, the draped ivy, and the water again looking like an impressionist painting. And most importantly, shade!
This is the spot in the park where the old men play boules (otherwise known as pétanque). It always makes me chuckle to see the racks they have for hanging up their jackets.
We head to London on Monday and return on Saturday, so I hope to have some interesting photodocumentation of that city when I get back!

Wait, is this Cosi the chain? It has to be, I'd know that bread anywhere. We have them all over DC! I had no idea they actually had a real French connection!
I thought the same thing about that tree as soon as I saw it. How unique.
That coat rack is too much. What a great country.
These pictures are fabulous of course! Those camouflage trees are bizarre, leave to France to have Impressionist trees!
It looks like you caught the Medicis Fountain at a beautiful time of day, the lighting is lovely.
Does this mean you won't be blogging at all from London? What about using Marc's laptop? Is that too big of a pain? I don't know if I can handle 6 days of no posts from you!
You TORTURE me with your sandwich photos! Argh!!!
(have fun in London)
xoxo
Hey! We have Cosi in the US! Is is the same chain, but American style? I'm pretty sure they don't have anything like that, but it is rather good! (But, they have really stupid wreaths hanging all about that I swear everytime I see them, I will send a sales pitch with Black-eyed Susan wreaths!
Your photos are lovely, someof my favorite memories from my last trip! It looks like the weather is good too.
I love your Paris time clock! I just noticed it. It helps me to imgaine you there.
I think I'll need one of those sandwiches when I come! Have fun in London.I'm jealous!
Yes, we have Cosi here in CT too, but the bread here looks nothing like yours. Ours is more hard and scrapes your mouth...not so good.
Is the tree a eucaliptis? I remember those in CA growing up, and always peeling the bark like that. Of course, it probably is not the same tree.
London! Oh, we were only able to spend one short afternoon there, and it was not enough! We walked some, road the London Eye, and that was about it, as the tour buses were all finished by the time we arrived.
Paris is a city- people live there, work there, shop there... but it has this romantic enchantment that other cities do not and your pictures just keep feeding that for me! The red awning is a happy sight.
Have fun in London- I can't wait to hear all about it!
The camouflage tree fascinates me!
The bike is SO cute!!! All summer long, I have been wanting a new bike to ride on the beach and this is one of the few that I would consider. Love their style even in bikes....viva la difference, no?
Have a wonderful time in London!!!!!
Racks for their jackets? The europeans are so thoughtful like that.
These posts just may make me green with envy! What an adventure!!
ohhhh soooo french! I love all the photos and your narrative....vonderful!
Reading your blog is helping me to unwind...go figure! No really, it is so nice to know that I'm not the only mother who goes to bed exhausted at night.
Your pictures are amazing! It makes me feel like I'm there with you. Thanks for sharing a little piece of France with us!
Just think, you could be here in the U.S. eating a Big Mac. I mean really. :)
