Marc's parents volunteered to come down and watch all the kids so that Jessie and I could get away for lunch. And then they paid for lunch as well!
Hannah joined us, and we decided to go to Spark to try their $10 lunch special:
It is so much more than a $10 lunch, believe me.
Jessie sampling my raspberry/blackberry margarita. Hannah ordered the Bellini and Jessie had the mango mojito. Jessie's was the clear winner for me. (Spark is a non-alcoholic restaurant and they have a big bar menu.)
First course: field greens, shaved fennel, apples, cucumbers, and a lemon vinaigrette.
Second course: sake-marinated grilled salmon with sticky rice, pineapple salsa, and honey chile sauce.
The fries came later because the waitress forgot we wanted them. They were worth the wait. The dipping sauces are blue cheese and garlic aioli.
Third course: pineapple sorbet.
Of course, by the time we each had a drink, added an order of fries, and paid the tip, it was more like a $20 lunch, but still. Totally worth it. (and I'm not just saying that because I didn't actually pay for it...) This place is so good, we want to go there as often as we can. We definitely want them to stick around!
Let's see, getting out during the day, with no kids, and eating a fabulous lunch. And going fabric shopping at JoAnn's afterwards! We definitely felt like we were getting away with something.

Mim and Bob never cease to amaze me with their generosity! I'm so glad you girls got to go to such a fantastic lunch without kids!
The new necklace from Amanda looks darling on you!
That sounds like so much fun! You definitely got away with something with that delicious lunch. And I will say that we're loving having Jessie and the girls here for a few days!
I can't stop thinking about Spark. It was totally getting away with something in the best kind of way! I keep thinking about those fries...that salmon. Screw healthy eating!
I love that picture of us! You two are intimidatingly beautiful and photogenic!
Oh my! What a lunch. What a day. What a thoughtful gesture of Marc's folks.
I love Jesse's pose in the first picture.
cutest girls ever! sounds like the best kind of "getting away with something."
The bar menu sounds as intriguing as the food! Glad you got away with something so fun!
(I don't know why you don't like your new hair cut- the pictures you've posted are super sassy! I like it!)

This looks so fun! I had to check out the site for when I bring my little to school. This place looks so fun!

First off, Jessie's hair is darling. Second...that food looks amazing. I want to come visit!
We need to come up with an excuse to go to this restaurant - the salmon looked amazing! I love the necklace and the hair...I am so glad you and Jessie could get out and about without kids - hooray!
That looks DIVINE and I love your hair and Jessies. Will I get to see you all friday?
You girls all look so cute! What a great lunch. I haven't heard of that place. It looks delicious! How nice of Marc's parents to treat you guys. And by the way, your hair does not look frumpy! How did you fix it?!
that is awesome! you two are so photogenic. it's incredible. you can so see that you're sisters. and hannah fits right in. :)
i love that restaurant- even though i've never been....must remember to get there next time i'm in utah. :)
and your hair does NOT look terrible! tres chic madame. :)
It totally looks like you got away with something. How nice of Marc's parents... great in-laws are a gift.
What a fun outing made better by the generosity of your in laws. It's always nice to get away during the day.
We were in Utah last week for a family reunion and went to Spark last Friday night to see Cubworld (my nephew plays guitar in the band) Its a great venue.
The raspberry/blackberry margarita was delicious, so was the cotton candy topped shirley temple. The strawberry lemonade was a disappointment. The thing you must try is their dueling edamame - 2 servings of edamame - one sprinkled with a Hawaiian lime salt and the other served warm with bacon - so yummy!
I love a nice variety of drinks. That's a bargain lunch for so many courses and such good quality. How nice to have a place like that nearby!
Oh, and that turquoise purse...heaven help me!
WAY cute SP! Jessie told us about Sparks when she was here and I definitely want to give it a go when I'm there moving the girls back to Provo in a few weeks.
Thanks for coming to Spark and writing about it. Can't wait to have you back!

That sounds like just about the perfect afternoon, especially when you add in the fabric shopping. I hope you got fabric to make something fabulous! Also, now I want to try Spark. Maybe I can swing a daytime date with Jeremy this week. We have to hire a babysitter anyway. What's an extra hour, right?
It definitely sounds like a cool place, and all the cooler with the three of you as guests!
Cool that the manager commented on your post....any comp tickets there?!!
I think your haircut looks cute! It reminds me of your Paris haircut when Max was a baby!
It sure sounds like a fun place! Even more fun with the three of you as patrons...
Neat that the manager commented on your post. Any comp gift certificates there??!
I think your hair looks cute! It reminds me of the Paris haircut you had when Max was a baby. I like it!

How cool is THAT that Spark commented on your blog!
I can't wait to try this restaurant out when we come to Utah next summer!
Everything looks wonderful! I'm drooling just thinking about the fries with blue cheese dressing...
I've been on a crazy gorgonzola, blue cheese kick lately...
