another milestone

I am so far behind on blogging. I meant to document this three weeks ago! Anyway.

Eva finally got her big girl bed! Yes, she was four years old and still sleeping in a crib. Good grief. But in our defense, she is really small. She still fit in there fine. And it was a really pretty crib...

But all good things must come to an end. We had been looking for a bed for her, and we were really liking the Olivia bed from Pottery Barn. We had all the DownEast Home stores keeping a watch for us, and when Pottery Barn discontinued it, we thought we had hit the jackpot. We were mistaken, but the daybed version of it did come in to our local store.

We weren't planning on getting a daybed, but it just seemed right. She loves it, and is hoping her cousin Bella will want to sleep on the trundle when she comes to visit next week...

p.s. she seems to have stopped falling out of bed finally!

I love her new bed! It's gorgeous. It must have been hard to let go of the crib, but (no surprise) her big girl bed looks adorable in her cute room. Congrats to Eva!

Those are both beautiful beds. You have such good taste!! What a lucky girl Eva is!

The nice thing is she is old enough, I hope, to maybe stay in the new bed, unlike some two year olds who then venture to their parents' room at 3 am.

I used to have a trundle bed! Maybe I'm out of the loop, but you don't seem to see them that often anymore.

I so covet that bed! It makes me wish I could buy a new bed for Kaitlin's room and completely redo everything! Great buy. It must be nice to be on the good side of the Downeast employees. ;)

HOoray for a big girl bed & not falling out :)

That is a beautiful crib... but the bed makes up for it!

I think it's so funny that she stayed in her crib until she was over 4 years old, but she is really very small and the ability to contain her was highly desirable.

I think the trundle is a great feature and the new bed is lovely. I hope Bella is equally excited to sleep in it when she comes!

I love day beds and that one is lovely. I'm wanting a full version of the crib now though...I need ideas on how to make a girly room!

Darling bed and bedding! But then again, would I expect anything less?
