miniature

My niece Kristen has loved tiny things for as long as I can remember. When she was 2 or 3 (I think), her favorite toy was a teeny tiny plastic duck, which was a problematic size for a favorite object...

Now she makes miniatures!

She gave me this small box filled with the tiniest books in the world because she knew I would love them!

When we were at her house for our annual Easter egg hunt, she showed me some of her new miniscule creations:

a plate of pasta (terrible photo, but you have to see the scale!)

A whole collection of tiny foods, including: fruit platter, potstickers, sushi, burger & fries -- can you believe the detail on these?

And finally, check out this 3D star she made out of paper! She used her fingers and a pin to make the folds. I was dying! I wonder what this incredibly dextrous girl will do with her hands in the future...

Thank you for the post - Kristen was so flattered! I have watched her make some of these creations and I still can't believe how small she can make things!

i love all that tiny food, and those tiny books - oh my goodness, pure cuteness!

my little ethan would go nuts over it too - his favorite toys are tiny tiny little things that he can carry in his hands and pockets. his favorite is "tiny nemo and tiny dory" which we've lost more times than i can count. maybe i need to post about them before they're gone forever.

That's so cool! I wonder if she's ever looked at the American Girl book "Tiny Treasures." It's right up her alley!

It sort of gives me a headache to think of making that teeny tiny bow--that girl has got mad skills!
