spt -- holiday joy

I'm feeling the holiday joy!

Something is just different about this Christmastime for me -- less stress, no 3:00 a.m. bedtimes... but more than that.

Despite the fact that 3 members of my family have sinus infections, and we lost our hard drive and all its data; despite the fact that I am not done shopping and haven't started wrapping and would like to send off my gifts this weekend; despite the fact that our Christmas cards are not even a glimmer in my mind yet... I'm happy.

In recent years, December has been a blur of busyness and stress for me, but not this year. I'm working on a few projects, but I'm not killing myself over them. I'm listening to music that fills my heart. I'm happy and I'm feeling the Christmas spirit, and for that I am grateful.

p.s. a little glass glitter never hurts.

Just reading this makes me feel calm. It is about what really matters.

You have inspired me to adopt your attitude. I love the idea of calm and have just decided to put some bare branches in some "snow", hang a few glass glitter snowflakes on the limbs and call it my Christmas tree!! What a relief and a bit of Holiday cheer to boot!

I think that might be one of the most beautiful photos of you I have seen of late!

Any hints for those of us who want to follow your lead?

my favorite Christmastimes are the ones that are just like this. the ones where you find your balance, keep your perspective, and use the glass glitter with wild abandon!

from SPT- Way to go. I have had some really bad Decembers but I am doing okay this year and hope this is a new trend. Things will fall into place when they need to and other than that, enjoy your stress-free attitude. I love it!

What an incredibly calm post. When faced with adversity you keep on smiling.

Your header picture is very pretty...so it the one taken today.

If you would like, stop by my blog and enter the give-a-way...it's linked to Christmas music, something you mention in your post. :D

This is such a nice photo of you. I love the glittery JOY in the background. I'm glad that you're enjoying Christmas more and not stressing. I'm sure you're going to come up with something genius for your cards anyway, so why stress?

You always look so pretty in your self-portraits! I love the new hair-do.

I'm so glad you're feeling calm this year. I've been with you through those other crazy years and always feel powerless to help. I'm glad you're feeling the joy of good season!

You sound a like like how I feel. I could have written this myself. I'm glad despite what's been going on you are feeling joyful.

ps I have that same joy decor and love it. Got it at roberts last year.

I love the picture! You look so pretty! I'm so glad that you're feeling the Christmas spirit more this year--I'm working on it this year. It's so hard not to get too caught up in the stress of finals and such. And glitter never ever hurts.

Sorry to hear about the sinus infections.
That picture of you is joyous.

Oh, to be both calm AND so beautiful. How do you do it? You describe exactly how I want to be, but haven't quite made it yet. You inspire me, though!
