belated birthday goodness & creative Friday

Kristi brought me some belated birthday gifts -- a veritable treasure trove! A book and accompanying CD of French-inspired clip art, two little damask bags, her favorite lipliner (666), a lemon verbena air freshener, a darling vintage aqua match holder, and a new FREE necklace that she made herself!

Isn't this so cute?? Thank you, Kristi!

Kristi also brought both Jill and I this delightful shower gel from Bath & Body Works. It smells SO good!

Claudia brought me this lovely box to the blog party.

It was filled with lovely cards and pictures and notes as only Claudia can do.

And, oh Claudia, you were so right about me loving this! It is perfect for me in every way, down to the vintage glass glitter and the lovely limp silk ribbon that I love so... Thank you, Claudia!

I got a birthday package from Lara yesterday with this festive glass plate and some snowflake ornaments for my Christmas packages. So fun -- thank you, Lara!

{Isn't it funny that I got 3 birthday gifts in one week, 2 months after my birthday? I'm officially feeling spoiled and I can attest that it's never too late to get a birthday gift, maybe I should bear that in mind when I don't get gifts out when I intend to...}

Today was Creative Friday, and although it has only been two weeks, it felt like longer. Eva is just as excited as I am for Jill to come over -- perhaps because Jill indulges her with a little coloring or some such play, and talks to her like she's someone important. (It doesn't hurt that she usually shares her pebble ice and treats as well...)

Today Jill made many of her brilliant photo cards and I worked on one of Hannah's gratitude journals. (I only had to peek at the instructions for the initial tricky part, yay!) Jill brought Dove chocolates, never a wrong choice.

And this is Jill bemoaning her uncharacteristically busy weekend. Is it wrong that I enjoy it when she's like this? It cracks me up every time.

what fun birthday goodness! I agree that it is never a "wrong" time to give or to receive gifts :)

I also kind of love it when my best friend are moderately stressed out. (And, most of my friends walk that line on a daily basis.) All my friends, much like Jill, are hilarious so the stress usually induces the birth of a thousand crazy statements. Mary actually called me two nights ago and said, "Pep talk! Now!"

Glass glitter = the best.

Oh, my. What fun. Such perfect gifts, too.

I was so excited...bloglines didn't let me know about your other post, so I got to read two today. What a great surprise for me. I'm glad your girls' weekend was so successful and the blog party sounds incredible. Thanks for writing all about it so we could enjoy it from afar.

By the way, your hair looks so pretty...I love it curly, I love it straight.

I'm so glad it arrived in one piece. I was a little nervous. I'm embarrassed you got it 2 months after your birthday. Especially since all I needed to do was mail the thing.

Wow, what great late birthday gifts. Claudia has the best handwriting. I love getting little notes from her, the writing is so beautiful. The gifts from Kristi are very cool as well. I love the vintage match holder. So pretty. What will you put in it?

How delightful to receive 3 belated birthday presents this week...who knew?

I'm glad my stressed-out ways amuse rather than annoy you because I get sick of hearing myself and yet can't seem to stop complaining about things. Fortunately 3 of the 5 obligations have been met so far, a Relpax and a nap have been had and I'm ready for jammies.

Those gifts are all awesome. I am always flabbergasted by the fact that you girls (you, Jill, Kristi, Jenn, Amy H, etc.) have found friends who know exactly what to give you, create amazing stuff for you, and share so many other talents and qualities. Not everyone finds such wonderful friends in life! What a great birthday for you. I wish I had more gifts coming...

How funny for the 3 belated gifts to all arrive this week. Lucky you!

I can see how Jill's stressed out self would be enjoyable. She's so funny.

Hey, I am with Robyn...keep the gifts comming...no, i am just kidding....but I hoped you liked it. I really shouldn't say I feel ashamed, but since I did not know I was going to really go...until last minute, I decided to take it! Glad you liked it. I must return to NOLA...I did not get to the ONE street where there are soooooo many treasures.....Happy Late one....
