tiny E
Despite being a quintessential treat-monger, Eva is remaining her little petite self. We were cleaning the bathrooms this evening, and she spotted the scale. She pulled it out to weigh herself, and invited me to do the same (I politely declined).
I looked over to see her results and was shocked to see that she weighed 30 pounds! "Eva! You gained 4 pounds, I can't believe it!"
Then she weighed herself again: 27 pounds. We tried several more times, and each time it was 27 pounds. She seemed slightly distressed that she didn't weigh as much as we originally thought. (I'm pretty sure that has never happened to me.)
It's okay, Eva, you gained 1 pound! It's taken you nearly a year, but you did gain one pound. Buying tiny little shoes at Nordstrom and having all of your clothes altered -- like your grandma -- are most likely in your future.

How would that be...for real? Sheesh. I guess her method of two bites per meal is a guaranteed weight loss secret!
Eva is such a doll. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be petite your whole life?
Daniel was a chunky baby, but now he is as skinny as can be. He weighed 27 lbs at his one-year check-up, and now he is a few months away from being 5 years and he only weighs 33 lbs!
For a minute I thought you meant you had all her clothes altered now, and I thought "what??".
She's so cute. I love her chocolatey picture.
i have a tall, skinny seven year old who is dying to gain 17 more pounds (to get out of the car booster seat!!)
skinny. something i have never known in MY lifetime!!
Another post that will NEVER be written about me. She is seriously cute.
This reminds me of a Tongan roommate I once had that bemoaned the loss of every pound. The concept of wishing pounds on or wailing the loss of one is so foreign to me. Go Eva go!
Welcome to the "Booster Seats for Prom" Club! The "Nothing Ever Fits or Stays on Your Enviously Skinny Hips" Club. The "Your Mother Wishes She had Been Like That While Simultaneously Worry Something is Wrong" Club...
Can I say how much I loved waking up and checking my email to find like 7 comments from YOU! :)
That's so funny!! Eva is so cute and so tiny! It's pretty amazing so much personality and emotion can fit into such a little person.
Eva packs a lot of punch into her petite little self- so cute and sassy.
And where are those cute jammies from? I was looking at ones at Target today for Kaylee and none of them made the cut...
precious pic of your little one...what freedom to lick the beaters with enthusiasm without the guilt later
I am with Lelly, never experienced a healthy skinny (I was thin the time I lived on diet coke and oatmeal but even then not REALLY skinny) but some of my siblings have been very thin....genetics it's the luck of the draw.
Jenn- are you a member of that club?? I'm jealous!
It's not too far off- Bella only weighs 30 pounds, i THink. Soon enough we can compare them side-by-side again :)
Rachelle- I can't believe Daniel only weighs that much! :)
and yes, Tiny e does pack a lot into that tiny little self :)
She sounds a lot like my Megan. It's a good thing they're so delightful.
Due to her petiteness, Eva will always be mistaken for younger than she really is which she will also eventually come to appreciate!
Eva is pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen.
hey, i WOULDN'T mind having some part of that future! HOW FUNNY, I love having cookie/brownie dough like that! I weighted alexei and he is 44 and jorvik is 33 how funny is that?
