sick, sick, go away

Marc and Eva have the flu. I've been sleeping on the couch, because I really don't want to get sick. I've been doing a lot of laundry, and also wiping down the remotes, phones, etc. with Clorox wipes, because I really don't want Max & Lucas to get sick either. (although it looks like Lucas might have pink eye)

I don't want to be sick on my birthday. I really don't want the kids to be sick, because Marc and I are supposed to go to San Francisco next week, and I would feel too guilty to leave his parents with sick kids, let alone expose them to the flu. (oh please oh please oh please everyone be healthy!) Marc and I have only been away together once since we started having kids twelve years ago -- that trip was to New Orleans, and it was 7 years ago...

I am looking at this photo to remind myself that there is life outside of sickness and sleep deprivation. I took this last week, when Eva made herself a makeshift bed on top of the laundry basket and told us "This is the best adventure I've ever had!" I quite like her when she lets me get some sleep and isn't whiny and crying all day... I need to remember that right now.

I've also been working on a bookbinding project with Hannah -- it's helped me to hold onto my sanity for the last few days. She has the cool awl guide, and I've been playing with that, it's a pleasure.

Tomorrow just has to be better than yesterday and today!

Michelle-
Aaron and I will be in San Francisco next week as well.

What days will you be there? We should try and meet for dinner one night. :)

I want to cry for you. Seriously Michelle. I will pray for a miracle cure tonight so you are not spending your birthday tending to anyone but yourself. Sheesh.

All those signatures next to that awl guide are oh so pleasing.

wow...I am crossing my fingers...although it has not worked for us since we got back...this is the third rebound I've been in...and Jorvik poor thing too. Alexei had congentivitis and gave it to Jorvik and tonight as I picked up the ointment...the pharmacists told me I had a severe case of congentivitis too...I would be smart to go to urgent care and take care of it! oh my!!! I was hoping mine would go away...I have never had it this severe...So after a phoned in prescription of antibiotics for me and two ear infections for jorvik and the eyes...things should start looking better for us. They have been the most miserable three weeks in a long haul.!!ps...maybe the mere thought of being in those wonderful streets in SF will make your reinforcements double! Just keep washing and wiping. Oh by the way, I started your gift, but it won't go out until probably I send Jill's christmas present...ridiculous I know! cIAO BELLA

I have a very simlar picture of my Fletcher (who's 3) sleeping on a trunk in our family room. It's in those moments of pure joy you capture your little ones in that get you from one tough moment to the next.

Sorry about the sickness that's plagued your home! Especially with such a great trip and brithday near! It will all work out just in time!!!!!! :)

Yikes! Smotherhood? I hope that's a tag that stays quite bereft of posts!

Dear oh dear to Eva having the best adventure of her lift on top of a laundry basket! What a kid.
