unexpected treat

Marc came home from work last night and told me that he had made an appointment for me to get a foot massage at the Aveda spa (and had already paid for the service and the tip). Such an unexpected treat! I have had a pedicure there before, but not a massage, and I didn't really know what to expect. I thought I would sit in a pedicure chair and they would massage my feet, but it was so much better than that -- after washing and exfoliating my feet, the massage therapist took me back to a darkened massage room and gave me a reflexology massage. It was warm and so very relaxing; I never wanted it to end. Afterwards she wrapped my feet in hot towels and told me to relax there for as long as I wanted. When I finally decided I was ready to leave, she gave me a drink and some trail mix and invited me to sample any of the Aveda products. Then I did a little shopping in the mall before coming home, ready to face life with a smile.

Sounds heavenly! The spa where I get my massage is an Aveda spa and I love it. I have never had the foot reflexology but am definitely not opposed.
I always like the steam shower afterwards too.
Glad you were able to have an unexpected treat, esp since it was pre paid! How sweet!

Oh how I miss my days of super-cheap treatments when I worked in a salon. I'm glad it was so fabulous! What a nice husband!

Oh how I love massages! That is such a wonderful surprise for you. I have had one there myself. It's surprising how tranquil and quiet it is back there, behind all the bright lights of the salon, isn't it? After last week it sounds like you really needed it.

How nice is that! I love that he was thoughtful and did the leg work instead of just handing the money and telling you to go. So sweet. I'm glad it was good.

Such a well-deserved treat. Hats off to Marc for such a thing! I love Aveda products (my finances don't allow me to purchase them, but still ... yummy stuff). Sounds like paradise, especially now as I sit here with crackers all over the ground and dishes in the sink!

oh MIchelle....I am heading there to do my hair...when I am not in Utah...but never ocurred to me that they do feet massage...ONE GLORIOUS THING i think I would like to book for myself. WHAT an amazing treat....to just show up to be pampered. I can feel my feet jumping for joy in your behalf. There is nothing like a good feeling in the feet...I often wonder if that is why Jesus washed people's feet...since it is such a delicate activity in the sense that is it kind of humbling for both parties....

ohh i forgot...but it is the best feeling in the world when someone cares for your feet.
