Sunday, continued, and another good morning

Yesterday evening we went to Marc's parents' condo in Salt Lake to celebrate our niece's 10th birthday. She chose salmon for her dinner! Lucky us. Marc's parents put out a feast, as usual, and we all had a great time.

Max with his 12-year-old cousin Nicole. They are only 3 months apart in age. Nicole said that someone once asked them if they were twins. I took this picture of them together and now I can definitely see the resemblance. I just don't know how it's possible that they're 12 and Nicole is wearing makeup! When did that happen?

The view from the condo balcony. They live just behind the conference center, so there is a great view of the temple and the city. I just loved the cool, cloudy, rainy haze of it all.

Once Grandma brought out a bear that sings Happy Birthday and a tiny player piano with a bear who sings different songs when different hats are placed upon his head, it was official that Eva never wanted to leave.

This morning, Eva came in with me to wake Lucas up for school. She decided she needed to climb up to his top bunk to make sure he was really awake. Then she climbed under the covers and snuggled up to him. He indulged her by turning on his light and reading a couple of SpongeBob books to her. I swear, that girl is getting so much indulgence on all sides that I think we're creating a monster. (I discovered her dad giving her ice cream for breakfast today.) But this scene begged to be documented. You've gotta love big brothers.

Okay, I have a lot of exclamations:
Nicole looks SO old, all of the sudden!! Like, just since the last time I saw her- what's up with that? How is she not in an awkward phase at 12- I sure was. And Max! He looks especially old in that picture too! Eva looks so cute looking at what I'm sure was a very annoying toy that you'd be glad not to take home, and the pic with her and Lucas is SO cute. Lucas is such a sweet boy, and Eva will be an adored princess for sure, as the only (little) girl in the household!

Max does look so old in that picture- and they do look a lot alike. The one of Eva looking at that bear is so cute. I love when grandparents keep toys like that at their house! And Eva has the cutest older brothers around- nuff said.

I've always thought Max and Nicole looked like twins, the resemblance is uncanny for cousins! Nicole looks so much older, wow, she's ready for Young Womens.

Mim and Bob are the ultimate grandparents, all the grandkids are so blessed to have them in their lives.

The last picture of Eva in bed with Lucas is very cute, that's a plan that might work daily eh?

Ice cream for breakfast?

Sooo nice to have family so close to temple square...and all the rest of downtown Salt Lake. They look like very cute grandparents.

Eva may be spoiled, but she will know how to show love because she has been given so much. Cute kids.

What a great day. They do look alike, and Jessie is right. Not very awkward at 12. I was a nightmare at that age!

Love the reading to Eva. Let's hope it continues!

Who wouldn't want to visit gparents like that. What a way to entertain the little ones.

I love the picture you took of the temple.

It sounds like a great day and Max does look like he has done a lot of growing up this year!

That picture of Eva and Lucas snuggled up is adorable. I love it when older siblings are so sweet to younger ones.

Max and his cousin could definitel be twins. That is amazing.

Oh, and love the view from their condo! So lovely!

Great pictures -- twins, view, and snuggling readers. Do you sometimes get a glimpse into the future and see your boys as such tender dads? They are so sweet with Eva!
