Saturday, September 1st was the day of Lucas's baptism. (Landon pointed out that it was one year exactly since his baptism!)
It was a great day. My mom helped me prepare all of the food, and she also helped me straighten my hair (she's got a lot of hair tricks).
Marc helping Lucas to get ready before we left for the church.
We were all sitting in the chapel, and when Marc's sister Michelle came in and sat down next to Eva, Eva said, "Michelle! Jill's back there! Did ya see her?" She was of course thrilled to have all of her people in the same place at the same time.
Michelle played the piano, Marc's parents sang A Child's Prayer with the guitar, and my mom gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. It was a lovely program (that we shared with another little girl in our ward).
Lucas with Landon after the baptism -- his first real smile of the day!
I love how you can see a picture of Lucas when we brought him home from the hospital in the background.
Marc's parents gave Lucas a new set of scriptures to mark the occasion.
He was so lucky to have both sets of grandparents here for his special day! So much love. It meant so much to me that my parents were able to come out from Pennsylvania to celebrate with us.
He was so anxious to cut into the giant, lovely loaf of sheepherder's bread that Grandma & Eva made. (It did not disappoint.)
Dad had to check the score of the BYU game.
Eva was able to hone in on Lucas and Kristen's conversation...
I could tell that Lucas was so happy -- he came up to me about 6 times and hugged me or curled up for snuggles. He knew it was a big day and he knew he was surrounded by people who loved him. So I guess I'd say it was about perfect! (The only thing that would have made the day better would be if Jessie, Timm & Bella could have been there...)

I thought it was such a lovely day. The program, the baptism and the party were all great. Lucas was so cute, and looked so little when surrounded by all those big men (and that big bread!). It was a wonderful day.
How awesome to have both sets of grandparents there. That bread looks so impressive- your hair looks so cute- Lucas looks so happy! What a great day!
Looks like a beautiful day with people that love Lucas! I love the family photo of you, Lucas and your husband with the photo of baby Lucas in the background! How sweet!
You gotta post about that amazing giant loaf of bread! I am dying!
It looks and sounds like it was a beautiful day!! I think your hair looks beautiful! It must have been very special for him to have both sets of grandparents there to celebrate with him!
Lucas looks so happy and the snuggles and hugs would make any mom happy on such an important day. I love the grandparent photos, so fun to have both sets! The bread looks so good!
Congratulations Lucas! And that loaf of Sheepherder's Bread totally made my mouth water.
I love the picture of Marc helping him with his tie, Michelle, that captured a lot.
Marc helping Lucas with his tie is hands down the best picture of the bunch! LOVE the moment you captured!
Your hair looks fantastic! What can't your mom do?!
It should be a perfect day- congratulations to Lucas!!
What a nice day. Cute pictures especially of the tie tying.
That bread looks enormous and delicious.
Baptisms are such special occasions. It is so special that your parents made it out all the way from Pennsylvania.
Everyone looks so beautiful and happy in the pictures. (love your hair straight)
What a tender photo of Marc helping Lucas with his tie. I love that. And, also I love that you can see his baby picture in the background of the other picture.
It looks like a wonderful day!
The pic of putting on the tie is so sweet, what a special memory of the day!
We celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism as infants - Luci and Griffin's will be days I always hold close.
Sounds and looks like a wonderful day. Lucas looks so happy.
I love his tie, I wish I could find one for Darin like that.
You have some great shots here - to help you remember this special day! I am glad you were surrounded by family, and that he could tell that it was a big day. He clearly felt nestled right in, surrounded by his adoring fans. I love that he kept seeking you out...
Bread as big as yer head! That loaf looks fab.
LOL at your dad checking the score! Glad both sets of g'parents could make it. That kind of thing really adds to it being a special day.
what a fantastic day. so happy for you and your family.
Remember how Max got baptized the day after Timm and I got married? I love the picture I have of me with Max from that day and am sad that I missed out with Lucas. It's so weird to have mom and dad visit you in Utah and me not be there. That's never happened. Love the pic of mom and Lucas, and the one of you 3, the very first thing I noticed was his baby picture in the back! Love it. And you look great in that picture. :)
