Lucas wanted army guys for his birthday. No vehicles, just guys. I was mystified as to why he could possibly want more than the many battalions we already own, but... in any case, no one gave him army guys for his birthday. I found two packs in the Target dollar spot: 50 guys in 2 different colors (so they can battle each other, duh!). Probably the best $2 I ever spent, gauging by his delight and the amount they have been played with thus far.

how fun...that chair could be a master piece. I remember playing with cowboys and indians all the time with little plastic guys...it was most fun.
That picture is hilarious. It reminds me of a time when I worked in Holland with a Cockney guy, who was plagued with ants around his desk. He finally lost his rag and announced that every ant he killed, he was going to mount its little head on a cocktail stick and arrange them around his PC as a warning to their brother ants that he 'takes no prisoners'.
Lucas is v.neat at arranging things, isn't he??
i wish jack would line up his army guys so beautifully!! they are currently cluttering up his room, my bath, and, oh, varous camoflauged parts of the living room rug...
That is such a cool picture!
What a pleasing and orderly war that is! Wow. Best $2 indeed.
I loved that day camp day where they used the clear lid from my flowers as in invisible force field of some sort. Your boys are creative.
Great photo Michelle. Lucas cracks me up. We looked for Army guys to give him for his birthday, but didn't find any.
Huh, who knew how much fun could be had by $2 worth of army men??
First what a great picture! love how the edges blur, all the army men are lined up perfect, nothing else in the picture to distract.
Second, there is a little pride I think in knowing what a great toy you got and is being played with and cherished (well something he was longing for) for only $2!!! Way to go!
Who knew army guys could look like art? I love that picture. And, I think we have the same chairs.
That picture is awesome! I just assumed it was some kind of stock photo until I realized that was your chair-very cool! I love lucas.( or 'yucas'.)
michelle this photo is beautiful! you are amazing with the camera
I love that picture! Definitely a scene from my house. The cheapest toys often do bring the most delight.
i love that picture. talented army men you have!
Isn;t it funny what children want. It makes no sense to us at the time, but then something little, like some little plastic army guys, ends up providing more fun and imaginative play than we ever could have expected. At least it isn't a video game, and you probably got some mom points for only $2. How can you go wrong?
You are welcome to borrow my steamer and see if you can get a bit more dirt out....?
