2 Fridays

Last Friday we went to the Fall Festival at Lucas's school. It's like a big carnival, complete with pony rides, a dunking booth, go karts, a silent auction, popcorn, cotton candy, the works. Lucas was so excited he could hardly contain himself.

He was. He really was. You just would never know it in this photo of him standing in front of the pinata he helped make.

Eva won a prize at the fish pond...

and enjoyed a snow cone with Daddy.

I think Max was feeling a little too old for the carnival. Maybe he would have had more fun if he'd taken along a friend. He ended up going home early with Marc & Eva, while I stayed to help with the rocket launches. My favorite quote of the night was Max saying, "Mom, can I just go to the library for a minute? Our library has been closed for a couple of weeks, and I just need to be in a library." Classic. Lucas stayed until it was dark.

I think maybe I was dragging my feet on documenting the Fall Festival because of my serious lack of photos. I don't know what I was thinking that night, except that I brought my big, heavy camera and it was pretty awkward to use. And then, how did this happen?, it was Friday again!

Jill worked on organizing her Paris photos in albums again, as she had printed more and needed to do a bit or shuffling. (It ended up being more time-consuming and frustrating than she planned.) I just enjoyed looking at all of her prints, especially since I haven't gotten any of my photos printed yet!

Eva also enjoying looking at the photos. Jill pointed out all the pictures that had Eva in them, and Eva had fun pointing out Mommy, Jill, Amy, Collette, Jenn, and Jana. It's so weird to think that she probably doesn't remember being in Paris anymore.

So lucky for me that Jill is willing to indulge Eva on Creative Fridays -- otherwise they would probably always end up being a bust. At least we always have a little peace when Eva takes her nap. But no matter how it turns out, I am always glad we make the effort to get together!

It was fun holding Eva and talking about the Paris pictures with her. She's so articulate and cute, plus she was in some of them so it was all good.

I'm glad my frustrations are comical for you instead of annoying or we'd both be in trouble.

It's kinda cute that Max is too old for the "kids stuff" now that he is a junior high man. And the library comment- that is great!

I hate when I lug my camera somewhere and don't take very many pictures. I do it far too often...then put off posting too.

Jill and Eva are cute. Period.

those pictures look like fun but I guess it could become overwhelming...I too often after going somewhere want to finish my day at barnes and noble....well at least Max knows what he wants.

I think it is great that you have this creative friday time! It is so nice of Jill to spend time with Eva too!

"I just need to be in a library." I love that! It sounds like my Brynlee. So cute.

I'm always glad to hear about your Creative Fridays. My friend Emily and I are wanting to start this, but we're a little concerned about how this will work with kids -- so seeing Eva in your Creative Friday posts is always encouraging to me.

I agree - I just wish i could be in the library.
Michelle - have you ever tried clorox bleach pens on your grout? I know this is probably too late, but maybe next time...

I think I have heard the same library comment from my Blake. He is the same way.

i think it is awesome that you include eva.

our fall fest is this weekend and the girls love it. we do them twice a year so the kids love them. The fall is much more laid back (thankfully!)

max and cass would get along great, by the way! while i was out of town this week, cass had to accompany scott to a meeting, which happened to be held at a school library. She was so grumpy about it until she learned it was in the library. scott was finished with his meeting and she was upset to leave! Love that!

I know how Max feels. I love to be surrounded by books, too. I need a Barnes and Noble fix a few times a month.

The fall festival sounds like a lot of fun. I wonder if schools up in my neck of the woods do anything like that. I can completely understand the whole bog camera awkwardness thing. I love my camera but I hate dragging it around everywhere. We bought a small camera again for that very reason. But my picture taking has not really increased. I'm just tired of always being behind the camera!

God love Max and his need for books. Will he be one of those (like me) who loves to smell the pages of new books: the paper and the ink. Yum!

I can't believe you've not had your Paris photos printed yet!

Your Fridays always sound fabulous (it seems they roll around fast to me too).

Cute pictures.

that photo of jill and eva is just too cute.

We had a carnival, I sure much like the festival, and I didn't even bother to take my camera. I hate to lug it around when I know I won't take any photos. I guess I was just being lazy.

I am so ashamed to say I SAW you at the FALL FESTIVAL, but felt too sheepish to say anything. What a dork I am! My Preston and Luke both go to Foothill! Eek! It was a pretty terrific carnival and didn't find myself capturing too many photos either!
